  1. Look for my posting a few years ago on how to access the top nuts on the rear springs, there's pics as well. Rear shelf doesn't need to come out.
  2. Do your door, boot and bonnet jams with waterless polish. Spray it on and brush it in and wipe off and all the muck comes with it and leaves a polished surface so water runs away easily. Engine bay. If its mainly dry dust etc. use a paint brush (1", 2") and a flexible hose on the vacuum to lift every thing off and then brush on / wipe on "Armorall" satin black and it comes up lovely without looking at all 'blingy'. Black shoe polish on the tyres.
  3. The radar/laser was very problematic with water ingress cos of it's vunerable position behind the front grill badge and a dashboard warning would come up. Have a look behind the grill badge for a couple of wires. It may have been switched off electronically to disable the dash warning. Apparently £1000 to repair/replace.
  4. Yes that is essential as you would lose all the coolant. I've posted this reminder in previous posts.
  5. Anyone know this MK3 GS300 Reg. No. Y80LEX dark blue, cream interior 73000 miles in lovely nick. It's from the South East with a Southend invoice amongst the paper work. For Sale near me. A bit steep at £4275?
  6. I think rear view reversing camera and front radar mounted behind the Lexus badge and 18" 5 spoke alloys were also added for the 2003/04 face lift
  7. VK is a Newcastle registration so probably came from Newcastle Lexus originally. I've never seen that one advertised up here so maybe been out of the area a while, who knows with cars.!
  8. The LOC places any members between the Tyne and Tees in Co.Durham. Not quite strictly accurate but 30 miles between us on the A19.
  9. Where are you in Durham. I'm in Washington. May be able to voice an opinion if we looked at it.
  10. I was basing my comments on the MK3 LS 400 I had a few years ago where the trans oil pipes are rubber and run to 2 stubs on the bottom header and secured with jubilee clips. Different set up now then.
  11. Be very careful about "leaving it" as I think the trans oil pipe runs through the bottom header of the radiator and its this unseen bit that fails and oil and water are mixed. Maybe the coolant with corrosion inhibitors should be changed every couple years. You can see the two pipes from the g/box entering the bottom header at either end looking from above the rad. I remember my1968 P6 Rover 2000 TC having the same arrangement.
  12. Didn't recognize the accent!!!. Still, all me Gateshead mates now think I'm a plastic makem when I moved to Washington.
  13. Welcome to the LOC. You'll find it very helpful and loads of knowledgeable people on here. How come you get a Tyne & Wear location as previously the Geordies were in County Durham. Things must have changed in the LOC world!!!. I'm in Washington.
  14. Where abouts in Northumberland are you. I'm in Washington. Why did you sell and was it a P/X as I never saw it in any local adverts. Jim
  15. I'm sure you can get at the washer bottle by taking the nearside h/light out, much easier than jacking it up and removing/pulling back the splash guard
  16. 0-0-0. My keys were for my BMW 5 series and I don't recall what went wrong with one of them but they sorted it. They were worth a try though.
  17. Try these I had my BM keys done by this outfit a couple of years ago. Worth a try. Quick turn around and not too expensive with an instruction sheet attached to go through the faff of the car and keys recognizing each other.
  18. That looks like my picture of my wheels, same brickwork and red block paving, that I've posted on here in the past. It's an optional 17" OZ alloy with Lexus fitment (not a DHP as pictured above) Far better quality than original LS wheels with good resistance to scabbiness that all Lexus suffer. Quite a few MK2 GS 300's come up for sale with these fitted.
  19. 53,000 magpies at St. James' Park every home game. The last few seasons it's been finger nails not aerials they've been chewing.
  20. His name and address is on the bottom of his advert so easy to check as it's on here somewhere
  21. Goodyear efficient are 68db noise rated. Very good on a BMW 5 series ( 16"tyres) which I had.
  22. Thats me you're talking about. Does that make me famous....at last!!! Yeh, I can't even remember the 30 second test but it worked for me. The top cover comes off (screws underneath the cowl) and attach a short length of wire to any convenient nut or bolt from the column to the bodywork
