  1. Car now sold to a guy in Watford. Already has a Toyota exelsior, so will make 1 great car from the 2. Me I picked up my Golf this evening. Would I buy another Lexus, Yes. Fantastic car, best car I have ever driven, loved it to bits. Maybe when finances improve I'll be back.
  2. Sadly decided it will just be sold as it is. Loved the car to bits, but I have always had VW never had any troubles at all, swapped this for my Mk1 Golf, that I loved to bits and after less than 2 months 'trouble'. I had always been told these are bulletproof, but I was just unlucky I suppose. Car will be sold and I will buy another VW. Sad I know, loved the car while I had it, but I need a car that I can open the bonnet and fix with a but of tubing and a paper clip, Under the bonnet on the Lexus is a work of art but certainly beyond my skills. Many many thanks for the support, great Forum. But back to the land of the VW I'm afraid
  3. Hi where in Essex are you I could come around & give you a second opinion I am in Great Dunmow, 5 mins from Stansted Airport
  4. Sounds like big ends :-( Decided to sell and move on. Shame as had 4 new alloys and tyres that cost over 800 pounds. Never mind these things happen.
  5. Wanted an ls400 for years, got one 132,000 miles. Had it 6 weeks and sounds like the engine died. Engine gets louder and louder knocking noise. Seems to come from the nearside. I will never be able to afford to get it fixed so looks like my dream car was not what I had hoped Loved it while it worked. Oh well time to look out for a Punto.
  6. I get about 300 miles a tank. Mines a MK1 LS400. Did you take the hand brake off?? ;-) There is a mk1 celsior in Bishops stortford up on Ebay. only 150 at the moment, won't go much higher, but would be ideal for spares.
  7. Looks like the original 'poster' has gone. I was a member of another forum, these type of questions were asked very often, usually by teenagers dreaming of a car that they could never afford to insure. There are so many comparison sites now that the answer only takes 10 mins to find out.
  8. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lexus-LS400-89-94-Fr...c#ht_1353wt_669 Seem cheap
  9. I have never had an automatic, do they have a clutch? If so how do you know it needs changing? Sometimes mine feels like the clutch is slipping.
  10. The last owner bought one off Ebay and it doesn't fit. I still have it in the boot. I think I will just disconnect and fit a universal type. My only question was if I cut the power to the moter it will effect anything else. This car seems to have more electrics than my Old Fiat 126
  11. On the car when I got it I'm afraid. They are growing on me ;) The sheer pleasure of the rest of the car outweighs the 'Ganksta' wheels
  12. I have a LS400 MK1 1993. the aerial is missing but the motor is still in place so I have to put up with it trying to raise the aerial when the car starts. Can I just cut the live to the motor or will this cause any other problems. I would then buy a bee sting type replacement.
  13. Here she is. 1993 131,000 miles. LCD faulty on aircon and slight leak on power steering pump. 'Unusual' No there are not any marks on the paint, it was getting dark, so no very good pictures.
