  1. Yes, I agree that is quite scary and I notice the car was past the 6 years recommendation.
  2. But there has been a lot of evidence (on here) that suggests that a few timing belts on some IS200's have snapped before hitting the 100k mark. If I got my timing belt changed by you and it snapped before doing 100k would you foot the bill for a engine repair/replacement? As a Lexus dealer I'd be interested to know your answer. I would like to know that answer as well but as it has not happened to one our customers I would not be qualified to comment. As for the service schedule, after reading the various posts on here I emailed Lexus GB for an answer to this as I was concerned that we were misinformed :o , the reply received was a copy of the current service schedule that we have always used with no advisorys or amendments! I do not wish to cause any controversy over this subject so all I can do is let you know what the current service schedule says and this is what we work to. Andy
  3. Sorry but that information is incorrect, the interval is still 100000 or 6 years according to the Lexus service schedule and from the email I sent to Lexus GB to check this recently.
  4. Current schedule for the IS200 cambelt is 100000 miles/6 years whichever comes first. :winky:
  5. A cut master key is about £85 + VAT :winky: but I would need to check on an individual basis for exact price. I also have 4 of the pre 03, 3 button transponders currently available if anyone is interested? PM me for details.

  7. Most seats are generally sided, especially electric seats but it depends what you want to do with them?

  11. Just received an email from Lexus technical and they have sent a copy of the current service checklist for the IS200 and it states......"replace timing belt - every 6 years or 100,000 miles (whichever is sooner)" This is also applicable to the 01 on IS300. I can email a copy to anyone who wants to see this. Hi mate, can you forward this to me? ill PM you my email add Done :winky:

  14. Your Lexus dealer is in fact correct, the timing belt on the IS200 is at 100000 miles or 6 years old, whichever comes first. As most IS200's reach 6 yrs old they are usually around the 60000 service time hence the confusion. Hope this helps.
  15. If your car is a 99-05 IS200 you would be better off getting the blank key cut and programmed to your car, as a used key will already be cut to another car and a 3 button remote on the is200 is a master key not a sub key. If it is an 05 onwards, any remote can be programmed to that model as the blade is stored in the key.
