  1. Happy Birthday TRD-1!

  2. Thanks for your advice and link steve, I think looking at the differences I was at first looking for a imported UCF20 for sale, but as currently I could not find anything for sale, I went down the route of possibly buying a uk spec car and then converting it over. I just prefer the JDM rear lights as there is more light on the rear compared to the UK spec ones. Those USA ones seem pretty much the same as the JDM ones, thanks for that.
  3. Hi Guys, Im on the search for JDM spec rear lights for the UCF20 LS400/Celsior, if anyone has any give me a shout. TIA.
  4. Hi guys, Ive had my MK1 JDM Celsior for a few months now, and I need some help on a few running issues I have. When I brought the car it was misfiring/overfueling and not running on all 8 cylinders. I had it booked into a garage where I was told the throttle body was faulty and that the air flow sensor needed replacing. I had the air flow sensor replaced which seemed to rectify the misfiring and overfueling problem, but then it had bad idle surge! Recently it won't start soon as I start it, it cuts out, seems like it isn't firing properly on start up, the only way it stays started is if I rev it a good few times, or if I wack it into drive and start to drive. After a few miles it finds idle and won't cut out, the misfiring is back, but don't seem to overfuel, as before there was a very bad petrol smell which isn't there now. Was wondering what things you guys would recommend I replace/work on to rectify all the issues....TIA your help is much appreciated. Also do the MK3 (1996) ECU's fit the MK1? Thanks
  5. Just a update on this issue I have had, for those of you who might encounter such a problem. I brought a much lower mileage steering rack from benfur, when my mechanic got the car up on the ramps they could not understand why the tracking could not be adjusted in the direction needed, after measuring the complete rack they realised that the rack that was on the car was 3cm shorter than the one I had brought. The newer rack is on the car, and tomorrow I hope to take a trip to elites to have the 4 wheel alignment done. The steering is still quite out from being centered so will get that sorted to, seems like the previous owner either had a incorrect rack fitted or something has happen to it somehow!
  6. Nah, Ive heard some funny stories of those cow boys who work in those places to. I went to a company called Watling Tyres, I shall see what I find out tomorrow weather it needs a new rack or just proper adjustment. I was first contemplating taking it to Elite in rainham essex who are more of specialists, but they were a little to far.
  7. Nah soon as the track rod end came off he seemed kinda puzzled and put it all back together and told me he couldn't do anything, so I didn't pay him, I got a few yards down the road and brought the car back as it was much worse than before, trying not to argue he explained that if he put it back to how it was, it would be dangerous. I just think they could not be bothered to investigate it any further, as it was the first job for a saturday morning and they had a long cue of customers to serve, I didn't want to make things worse for them so I left before they f**ked something else up..... :tsktsk: But its booked in with my regular mechanic, Ive located a spare steering rack, but I will get him to check to see if the opposite side is over adjusted before I make any purchases. Thanks for the advice guys, how hard is it though to take out the steering rack myself if I wanted to try?
  8. Hi All, I recently purchased my MK3 LS400 from lincoln, Ive been using it daily and I began to notice that it started pulling to one side (passanger side) and the steering wheel is not straight, wasn't when I brought it. Today I took it to my local wheel alignment centre to have it all checked and adjusted, as he was about to loosen the track rod end nut soon as he turned it it popped off, apparantely it was only held in on about 2/3 turns of the thread. He tightened it up so that it was safer and now the car steering has gone even more to one side and the steering feels very lumpy, he could not adjust anything as there wasn't enough thread to adjust it the way it needed to go, so the tracking is way out at the moment. I have also noticed that the alloy wheel on the front passanger side front is a different colour to all the others so this makes me think its had a bad knock on the wheel which might of damaged something, what would u guys advise me to check?....Possible damaged steering rack?....Is this difficult to replace? Thanks in advance.
  9. Hi all Just wanted to say hi to everyone, im new to the club, Ive come over from clubaristo, my names Kam also known as TRD-1 on clubaristo. I recently did a swap for a VIP UCF20 and after owning it I was very impressed with everything about it, I impressed a good friend of mine who decided to purchase a cheap project which he found on ebay, i went in on it with him and we ended up with a mk1 celsior 1991 which at the moment is quite ill, this car was described with all the probs so there was not to many hidden extras! We brought it from fort william and suprisingly it made the 550mile journey back down south, but after using almost 4 full tanks of fuel, overfuelling or what!!! I just wanted some advice on things we could begin work on, its overfuelling big time, the is alot of petrol smell around the car (but no leaks that are visible), the exhaust is leaking, idle is at 1300rpm, there is no power in the car (took us ages to get to 65mph), temp gauge does not work, speakers are f**ked. These are all the bits we found on our drive back down, but its all good to investigate and solve if possible. Any advice and help is much appreciated.
