  1. update - My Local Car Garage has come back with the following - you need to change the spark plugs - Ordered 6 new LEXUS IS200 IRIDIUM NGK SPARK PLUGS SET OF 6 You need to add one Coil Pack, - Ordered new QUALITY LEXUS 9091902230 IS200 GS430 IS300 LS430 SC430 IGNITION COIL PACK PENCIL i hope the garage has read the system correctly and this will sort out my transmission issues when driving the car.
  2. I wondering to use the car and drive it into a Lexus deal's garage to go throgh its IS system to find out all the faults. This will give me a full detail and cost. My issue is - will the car get bader as i drive the car while the engine light flashed last week. I am in Potters Bar and the Lexus Dealer is in Hatfield - so a 25 min drive.
  3. Thanks ROYT. i am getting a men checking the car with the system check. - so i will know all the problems with the car before i decide for sure.
  4. Hello. First i like to say sorry it’s been so long....been working in PARIS for 2 years while the MRS uses my Baby Lexus. I hope i can get some light on this matter, and advice. - It all started in July 2013, when my car was due for a MOT and Service - the car failed with some areas most issues where small light bulbs / wipers etc - however the main problem was the Emissions were too high and failed. The garage informed me it could be one of the sensors, so i shopped around and got them to change the sensor - however it still failed. Then the garage came to the answer as its your CAT - and that big bucks £800 - £1000 when my Baby is only worth £700 :( i started to do some research and was advised to use CATACLEAN - so gave that a try, you cannot believe it, it worked PASSED. The MOT report came back with one issue that will need repairing/replace "rear shocks". i started to feel the car drove different - it started to delay on a stop position (transmission issue) i was told. (Refurbished gear-box 2 years ago). The car continues having this problem, so could not trust the car will pull off when needed. And on Thursday 15th Aug the hand break light came on (not a problem) however that night on the way home the engine light flashed 3 times and did this twice. Once got home after 6 minutes on the road - parked on the drive and walked around the car and smelled burning rubber...! i turned to the Mrs and informed her, " i think our baby is due to die " and may have to let her go. taking account the problems we have with the car that needs attention. What are your thoughts
  5. theres that and need to think about road tax, tyres, as lexynik stated, most drivers as moving from large cars to smaller ones to save a pound or 2, - i think after having my car for 7 years and counting, you get used to the style, tech, ride, etc so anything else seems....well not good....ok it takes you from A to B... but!
  6. well so far its 1300.00 - and got Lexus to give me 250.00 back, cars in for a service... - your right, but i have to think about it.... - selling or trade in i can get 1000 ish back. done 126K so getting old and its not as good on the MPG....anymore
  7. hello Guys - Old car sorted, but need to think about replacing it - just came into work in a IS250 sport - WOW love it what a car, smove, sexy looking, full of tech. after some hunting i see i can get myself a IS220d for under 10k and some IS250 the same price.. - i dont know what to do..... - reading the reviews and all....geting confused... whats it like to own, how much is is to keep on the road, are you happy with the mpg.. going mad...thinking what to do, wife loves lexus....and i feel its time to be real and cut cost to a smaller car.....
  8. car all done and been dropped of today, it looks like the Auto GearBox was burnt-out....why - how is something i will try to find out soon..... taking LEXUS offer of 250.00 - and may try and get a service out of them for free....push push and you never know... thank you all for your support and guide in this mater. hope to see all on the next Lexus meet.. Raj
  9. some update - car got picked up this afternoon... working on it from Monday 18th Oct And had a call from the MD Lexus yesterday yesterday, he was not happy about the email i sent him and tryed to sort something out iether by a after service deal or work with A1 Premir transmission, as from his information they "Lexus Hatfield" use them as well, he may check and / or rebuse me my money..... it's good that i have got to them, and he bothered to call me. (let's see what happens) the Lexus MD - called 3 times so far....and offered me 250.00 cash or towards work via lexus.....while this is ongoing had letter from my credit company indicating that they are waiting for Lookers (lexus) BANK to get back to them regarding a full refund..... what shell i do accpet Lexus 250 offer or wait? :)
  10. As A1 Premier Transmissions give 12 months cover - me and my wife have decided to sell the car or part-exchange for a new car...this cover will give us time to choose and wait for the prices to come down. it willbe sad it has to be done. car Been picked up Tomorrow Friday 14th Oct - but sad news is the cost its 1200 + Vat. Och...
  11. after some detail thinking - i have decided to get the car fixed via A1 Premier Transmissions or Lexus - mainly for the 12 months wanenty. guys if i go and use a used greabox as you all state - fine get it fitted, and drive it to see if all is well, BUT if its not for any reason i will have to pay someone to take it out again....(a Pain) so - gearbox 350 fitting 350 - if goes wrong another 200 - 300 = 900 - 1000, not so far away from 1200..... going to compare the wanenty details from Lexus and A1 due to the mess i got from lexus hatfield. I have contacted the MD,Services Area Manager,Site Manager and sent a long email explaining my issues and problems of my case. on top of that i have filed a complate via my credit card company, and last not lease a email has gone to BBC watchdog. i want some kind of cash or services from Lexus Hatfiled and i will not rest until i do.
  12. guys - thanks for the infor - i have a couple of issues - 1 how do we know that the millage is what they say it is on a gearbox? 2 how much will it cost to fix into my car? do i need to worried if it only gor a 30 day wanenty>? - or a 1200 refurb with a 12 mths wanenty is better ? also taken in the comment above.
  13. been using the buses - "Not nice", Car still on my drive - got a contact regarding the gearbox issue.... spoke to a1 premier transmissions and was informed that its for sure the gearbox and will need a refurb at there cost of 1200.00. anyone used them before? - i am in even more confused what to do...
  14. well, still in a mess...car on the drive - road tax until June 2011 - freezed the car Insurance - cannot cash in the road tax unless i submit my privet number plate on paper or a new car! cost of 105.00 or 80.00. going to wait till Nov - Dec and see what prices i can get a replacment car... - i know there will be problems along the way in any car i choose...at lease it will be cheaper then my Lex. The Transporter - you are right in a way, but as mathunt71 says "too expensive and not suitable to the family" as before - son will be driving next year, daughter 13 and they have a life of there own no need for a family outing that much anymore. don't get me wrong i have the cash to repair the gearbox, but it seems not worth doing so..on paper, but looking at the car "YES" comes to mind. Mathunt71 - My heart also bleeds when i was told by a scrap dealer that my LEX is worth just £500.00 min, even when its clean with no dents and has 4 new refurb alloys. i also am thinking about Ebay; once i buy a car and get the plate transfired i will sell it.
  15. Update - i have to push the car, with some help!! - onto my drive, road tax cancelled - Insu on Hold - the car started but sounded odd, and no the gears were not working at all... the Citroen DS3 is winning so far.
