  1. Happy Birthday Mizan84!

  2. Thanks for the help, will see if I can find the right wire.
  3. Can't anyone help me, can someone tell me if this is a good or bad idea? I was planning on doing this by this week. Should I have posted this in the IS200/IS300 Clud forum?
  4. Hi, had this problem for some time, but been too lasy to do anything till now :P .I have a Sony aftermarket headunit installed into my IS200 Sport with an amp bypass cable. The problem is the Sony headunit display does not dim automatically when I switch the headlight on like it use to in my last car. The display is very bright and is very annoying when driving at night. The only way to dim it is via the remote control but I have to put it back onto "bright" mode during the day or I can't see the display. I have checked the cables and found that the amp bypass cable does not have any connection for the auto dim function to work . Can anyone tell me if there is a wire I can connect to to get the auto dim funtion back on. If possible I would like the headunit to dim only when the headlight is switched on instead of the sidelight (I have my sidelight on whenever visibility is a bit "poor") . I know which wire on the headunit to connrct to (all the wires are labled on the headunit). I was thinking of connecting to the headlight wire comming from the steering wheel stalt control, if you know what I mean , as I dont use the auto headlight function on the car (got some HIDs which don't work well when I have the auto headlight function) and I dont want the headunit to dim every time I give way to some one (which is alot ). Thanks for reading and hopfully someone can point me in the right direction.
  5. My car is a manual as well. Befor I used to put the key in and try to start the car straight away, when I tried to start to engine it used to turn but some time the engine didnt start fully as if the engine was flooded. As I said befor the 10 second wait helped alot, it was not the immobiliser as the engine turned and sounded like it tried to start (but it didnt sound "painful") and the immobiliser light was not flashing.
  6. I used to have a problem like that. I have had my car for almost 3 years, and from the beginning about one in every three "cold" start the car would not start on first try. For the last one year I now leave the car on the "ON" position for at least 10 second befor trying to start it and I never had any more problem.
  7. Can someone tell me if those clips (and what size) will work for the boot trim, as I lost a few of them. Thanks
  8. Sounds good. Put up some pictures please. You got PM B)
  9. I have a boot lip on my lexus and I want to swap it to a spoiler type. My car is plat ice but has gold badges on it which I want to keep. If you dont mind swaping badges I will be intrested. I can post picture when i get home as im posting from my phone.
  10. I had the same problem when I changed the water pump on my IS200 to a non original water pump (I did it the same time as the timing belt). Was losing about 1 liter of coolant in 24 hours. Tried refitting the water pump two time using new gasket and gasket sealant (and lots of coolant) each time with no help. I then got a new original Lexus water pump and not a leak since and got a refund on the non original water pump. So find out what make of water pump was fitted as that might be it.
  11. Changed my standard headunit the an after market one about 6 months ago (because the standard one didn't work properly), my built in sat nav stoped working, someone offered to build a "box" to fix it but never heard of him again. I am now hoping to try again to see if some one can help me. I have a mate who is good at making circuit board so he can even make me one if he knows what to make. If any one can help me, it will make me a very happy man. Thanks
  12. Help please. I just changed the water pump (+ gasket) along with the cam-belt, tensioner and idler on my car a few days ago as it's done almost 100k and has not been done. After putting the new water pump and cam-belt kit on every thing was running OK except the water pump was leaking a bit (from about a drop every 5 second to about 10 drops a second) round the seal. So I changed the gasket and put some sealant round the new gasket and tried again but the new water pump is still leaking. Now I don’t know what to do, do I buy another sealant and try again or put the old water pump back on as it was not in such a bad condition. The water pump was not a official Lexus part. Thanks for any help.
  13. I would like to know this as well please.
