  1. I nagged to keep mine going for about half an hour. Told my wife, son and daughter that our break in the sun for tomorrow was cancelled as the plane was overbooked ! My 9 year old son started to cry, so I had to tell him straight away................but then we both kept it going for about half an hour longer What a sadistic bas&$£d I am NB - doesn't seem to work for me , but If anybody does find a workaround for the DVD player, I would love to find out.
  2. I suppose I am gong to have to try this now aren't I? I really hope you are right tHomBleached, but I have just noticed the date :-) Only one way to find out though I suppose and the effort may be worth it ;-)
  3. Cheers guys. Nice to know I am not on my own, or is it? Actually I would prefer it if I had a dodgy seal and it wasn't inherent in IS design. I will ask them to look at that during its first service.
  4. I think you're right. I am expecting and hoping for a bit much. I am happy with 50mpg, but when the specs are higher, you expect them on your standard drive to work etc. I suppose we are not ever driving at a constant speed over dead flat terrain. i wonder what the stipulations are for test tracks? We all know that these ecu's can be tinkered with, but are mpg tests carried out by independant testers and on verified test tracks I.e flat? just hope Lexus are not found to be in breach too.
  5. So it does. Thank you. I've done quite a bit of motorway driving lately.......... 1. Still only managed 50mpg at 70mph :-( 2. I also noticed excessive road noise coming from my drivers door/window seals on a 6 month old vehicle. That can't be right can it? I would expect better from Lexus.
  6. It's nice to have to something to aim at in life. That might keep you going into the afterlife though.
  7. Thanks Ed. No probs and I am running latest 5.1.1 lollipop, which I presume is the latest. I'll have a look on the Sony support forum.
  8. Had another play today, but still no text read out. It does show th sms's on screen but when you go to open them it says something about a failed message transfer and won't read it out. Really annoying, as my z2 worked fine in all Bluetooth aspects
  9. Forgot to mention, all other data transfers work ok, I.e. Call history, contacts, audio is ok, just no visual or audible sms or e mails. Sms is more important to me. Steve perhaps ?
  10. Hello guys. Really annoying problem I have. my Sony Xperia z2 used to read out sms text messages and my Xperia z3 doesn't. The config is set up ok, but no joy. any obvious solutions, or do I need to check/update the car software ? Not sure what I am currently running. Is it easy to check please?
  11. Probably teaching the old grandma to suck eggs, but the door mirror adjustment switch has to be set to the left position. good points all, keep them coming. Very informative, especially when you haven't read the manual.
  12. I agree. I too did a 350 mile journey yesterday and I think I only twice had to manually switch them off again. Hopefully, You'll get used to them. I thought they were a pain in the ar*e for the first few weeks.
  13. It must be my driving then Robert, although I try to drive sensibly on the motorway, keeping to the speed limit ;-) I'll try a reset next time I do a week of motorway driving and see if that helps. I tend do to a good mix of town, jam, motorway driving. I look forward to the more economical summer months, but I won't book my hols just yet based on the potential savings :-)
  14. Cheers Capese21. I'll look into them then. Once they are replaced, I am sure I will notice them more !
  15. The replacement ribbon worked and the RX was sold on with fully working electrics and functionality as if it was new. 11 years on! After a good few weeks on the drive not being used, I had to use the car for a few days before the sat nav DVD player worked again. This was obviously due to the moisture build up in the boot. In the end, a happy seller and purchaser.
  16. Welcome to the forum Gearoidmuar. It is indeed a valuable source of info. You've got a lovely looking motor there. Since I bought mine about 6 months ago, I've been driving around town mostly in ECO mode, except when my 10 year old fancies a bit of a thrill ( or I do ! ). I then whack it into sport and leave the rest behind. However, based on mpg figures not making that much difference, I think it's time to come up a gear and live life in a normal/sport mode. I'll be back in tocch when I figure out how much difference it makes :-) Being a techie, I love all the toys. But also being a techie, I've yet to read the user manual, so I am sure there's more to be discovered yet. NB - Coming from a old '04 RX , I find the ride a little hard, but I still love it and wouldn't go back ( even if I could afford a new RX ! ) Enjoy.
  17. Been on motorway over last few days and my 2015 is300h f sport and can only a manage a tiny bit over 40mpg :-( expected more tbh
  18. I like these. Will they fit a 2015 is300h F sport ? I can't even say I've noticed puddle lights on mine as yet. If anybody knows, would be good to know. Else, I'll check tomorrow.
  19. Hi Reeves1985 Enjoy and I am sure that you will, as I am still doing with mine 6 weeks in. By the way ( and only because I worked it out a the weekend ), as you probably already know, when the wing mirrow adjust switch is in the left hand position, the door mirrors dip when in reverse. Whilst they are in that position and whilst you are in reverse, you can adjust them to whatever angle you so wish ( change the 'switch side' position switch first of course ), and then just adjust your drivers side to where ever you need it to be. Have fun.
  20. Not to worry - power now restored to the DVD unit and headrest screens. Either the under passenger seat replacement fuse was not seated fully or there is/was a loose connection under the seat somewhere. Power now good and now on to the faulty DVD player now. I have ordered a replacement 13way flex ribbon cable for inside the player. Looks to be intermittently open circuit causing the dvd's to eject whenever they are pushed in. I wil let you know if it works when replaced.
  21. Yep, the sat nav DVD player is in the boot and can get moisture in it in certain conditions. The ICE DVD player is under the drivers seat and both units probably need a good clean after 10 years of use. The lens's inside the players themselves probably need a good clean with an ethanol based cleaning solution. High jacking the tread a little, does anybody know where there could be more fuses for the ICE DVD player and screens? I have a permanent 12v supply to them, but the switched ACC 12v supply is missing when the ignition switch is in the ACC ( accessory ) position or engine is on. I have found the fuse under the passenger seat and replaced that as it was blown. There must be another one somewhere, as all fuses under the bonnet are good too. Any ideas please ( 2004 RX300 ) ?
  22. Sorry, my previous post was presuming that there was a ICE system with DVD player under the drivers seat. Please disregard, but if anybody has any ideas about my missing 12v ACC supply and if there is yet another fuse, please post.
  23. You won't be disappointed reeves1985. I went in looking for an IS250C @ 4 years old and was smitten with the F Sport ! A friend has a white one and that looks great too. A bit lumper than my RX but what do I expect? A fantastic car to drive and you'll love driving it especially in sport mode ! I make any excuse up to go for a drive these days. Just a shame that do not do an IS C any longer though. If they combined a C with an F Sport then..................mmmmmm
