  1. wel the times it has overheated ive driven about 30miles on motorway. Then hit city centre traffic. Why would it be the oil? But yes the temp outside has been very cold, but not always.
  2. As title, is there anyone in the Glasgow area that could do a headgasket repair on my is200? -My temp gauge has shot up a few times. -Not really noticed any loss of coolant. although under the expansion cap there is a lot of rusty residue. -No mayo gunk stuff underneath my oil cap. -Low oil pressure light comes on when starting the car from cold, but disappears when temp reaches normal. I took it to a garage on monday, thinking it was a dodgy switch or something that activates the fan as when the temp goes over normal the fan does not kick in. Although pressing A/C button turns it on. They told me they did a pressure test on it and they believe its 100% the head gasket. Was hoping someone on here would be able to help me out with a decent price and hopefuly trustworthy! Thanks in advance Mo
  3. Hello guys, i wanna ask a question about installing a pair of headrests. The headrests in questions are these ones: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XTRONS-HM703Y-2x-7-H...=item2c5313e410 They have two RCA cables, from each monitor. The dvd player i have is this one: http://www1.dealtime.co.uk/xPF-7-widescree...onitor-with-DVD it has one RCA input and one output. Im having trouble connecting it upto to my dvd player, i know il have to buy a splitter to allow both monitors to be conected to my dvd player, but atm i can't even get one of them to show whats playing on my dvd player. Please help! Mo
  4. Im looking at installing a rear-view camera and headrest monitors this week. Obviously need to find a 12v supply point, and a grounding point for both. Where do you guys recomend? Thanks Mo

  7. I've done the folding mirror on locking the car mod, but i dont think it has anything to do with my problem. Before i done the mod i could see that my driver side mirror folded in and out a lot slower than my passenger side one. And after the mod its still the same. I wasnt bothered by it, but now, when they fold out as i switch on the ignition the driver side mirror stops at a point. and i need to use the button to bring them in and back out. Using the button, it never stops half way. But i obv done the mod so i didnt have to use the button. Any ideas guys? Thanks Mo
  8. First off, i have done a search and every squeeky noise thread seems to be the brakes. Is this the only possible thing the squeeky noise could be coming from? the pads were checked at kwik-fit just over a month ago and had loads of life left in them. Going to get my friend of the family mechanic to have a look at it tomorrow but what do you guys think? Thanks Mo
  9. ive bought a sat nav cable that he has bought from fargo in the past. But it doesnt fit :S I just want to make sure im doing it right, i need to connect it to one of the plugs that used to go into the standard headunit, and thats it yea? The problem is none of the plug fit into the plug that the sat nav
  10. oh no :( if the oil pressure is low, surely the light would stay on after the temp has reached normal temp? As i never see the light come on again until im starting the engine from cold. Im going to get the oil changed. And i will be looking over the coolant levels in a couple hours after the car has cooled down.
  11. Hello guys, was wondering if you could help me out. But first ill give you all the info. During the ridiculous cold winter we've had my low oil pressure light has been coming on when i first start the engine but disappears when the engine reaches normal temperature. Now i have the understanding that this is ok as its just the coldness thickening the oil and causing the engine to think that there is no oil pressure. But when the oil heats up its thins out and all is well. -Can someone please clarify if that is indeed the case please? This morning after about a 20 min motorway drive i arrived in the city centre and some traffic. I noticed that the temperature needle moved from the middle to about 3/4 up the gauge. I pulled over and saw that the fans weren't coming on. I let the engine cool down a bit then continued to where i was going, the temperature gauge moved back upto 3/4 but luckily not for long as i had reached my desintation. I've made a search of the forum and looked into over peoples overheating problems. But im wondering if my two points are linked at all? Im not the best at understanding the engine mechanics but i do understand that the fan should be kicking in when the temp goes over midway. Im also guessing that the only reason that the temp was reading higher than halfway while i was on the motorway the air hiting the front of the car was obviously cooling the engine. Looking over the search results i can see that there may be something small that is causing the problem, perhaps the thermostat or the switch that engages the fans? Any help would be great, thanks. Mo
  12. AAHH! i didnt even think of looking! it didnt say in the manual. put if you pull the small cover off the passenger footwell it tell you whats what. it uses a 7.5 A fuse. but i dont have any. Just put in a 5A for now. Should be ok, shouldnt it? Thanks for your help mate
  13. Trying to be a smart ar*e i wanted to put in my led lights for the vanity mirrors before i went out, and i must have blown a fuse as both vanity mirror lights, front dome light as well as the middle dome light have gone out. I thought sod it il look at it in the morning, but i can't lock the car! Can someone please tell me which fuse i need to swap over and where its located please? Hopefully its just a fuse that ive messed up! Thanks Mo
