  1. Looking pretty is about all it DOES do... it's not actually going to do much if anything to improve airflow etc...
  2. Are they any good?? Can't seem to find there website, if they have one? Or is smart repair just a generic term for all reapir specialists? It's a generic term for the likes of Chipsaway etc...
  3. The basic turbo kit there seems to be missing an actual turbo? The induction kit looks OK, but I read on here that you can fabricate your own from the parts for less than half that price... Search will help you find out what you need. Don't know much about the american turbo kit thingy but it looks shiny... :D
  4. Smart repair? They can often pull small dents out
  5. I'd be inclined to say yes since the Altezza body is the same as the IS200, but surely easier to buy an Altezza in that instance?
  6. The OP said the £2k bill WAS with his partner insuring it with him as a named driver...
  7. Looks good :) Am looking at some tints for my fog lights since I changed the headlights for darker ones (Mine's an IS200)
  8. You'll find that legally the lexus has to have an insurance policy on it as well... Otherwise we'd all insure rubbish wee fiestas and run about in ferraris on the cheap insurance. The insurance companies got wind of this a long time back and it IS illegal... Sorry about that.
  9. IS300 & IS200 bodykits should fit - the same body on the cars after all...
  10. I found this link a couple weeks back for a guy on here who wanted a set. The seller doesn't have any at the moment, but I happen to know he makes them himself, so you could drop him a message on eBay and ask if/when he'll have some more... Best I can do for you, unless you are willing to pay an obscene amount of money. Then you could have mine. :D
  11. It is fiddly, but they are just poppers, get a flat head screwdriver under them and you can lever them right out...
  12. I'll be interested to see this... have something similar planned :)
  13. You can split the existing headlights and spray them to get the dark look - or buy them from Toyota at a cost of about £180 a side I think... Heater rings are hard to come by, though there is a guy on eBay who is sometimes selling them...
  14. Chuck a PM to ACLex, he's a parts manager for Lexus and will be able to advise :) Plus he does discounts for members
  15. If all the brake lights are definitely working, then the light means you're low on brake fluid... But it's most likely a bulb that's gone.
  16. I photoshopped it for someone else who wanted to see what it'd look like:
  17. You can't tint anything forward of the B Pillars legally, and I think it can be an MOT failure? Tint the rears all you like though
  18. Ah well, not the same as mine after all :) With the slight distance it looked somewhat like the club one I have, thought your car might have previously belonged to someone I knew.
  19. I think you have the same tax disc holder as me What does yours say? Just curious...
  20. Easy enough to get the darker look but I'm not fond of halos myself... You can split the lights open in your oven and simply paint the interior black, indicators can be detangoed at the same time. I was too lazy to do that, though so I bought a set someone had already done: Compared to the original lights:
  21. A quick search turned up this thread which would seem to suggest you can do it if you don't mind trimming metal from the inside of your wings... But they aren't directly interchangeable apparently.
  22. No worries, that's the point of this place :D
  23. There's another fusebox in the driver's footwell, have you looked in there?
  24. If you get down beside an open door and look in you'll see the panels in the footwell trim where the fuse boxes are - you may have to undo a screw to get into them though, you're looking for a small square "door"... As to drying them out... erm with a hairdryer? dunno tbh, but I know this has been covered on the forum in a few cases. Chuck "lights won't go off" into the search function and see what turns up :)
  25. This has happened to a lot of people on here who have had windscreens replaced - it's caused by them not being sealed 100% properly and water getting in to one of the fuseboxes. There are 4 on the IS, check them all for any water ingress to rule that out first... Think it's the one in the driver or passenger footwell that usually causes this but I can't quite remember...
