  1. So many parts changed because.. it all started 2 months back with the car misfiring in a huge way, thats why the coil packs and sparks were changed. This fixed the misfiring and ever since then it has been experiencing the fault i talk about above. Unfortunately the car has no error codes what so ever so it feels like im going round in circles eliminating bits as i go... What else could it be if not the VVTI system as diagnosed by the garage i took it to recently?? Im in need of more suggestions or im actually going to have to sell up :-(
  2. Hey guys! I have onwed my car for 4 years and has aleays been amazing to drive! The past month has been hell! so... My car has no power what so ever any more during acceleration through all gears, however its idles perfectly. So over the past month or so i have: Replaced the oil control valve/VVTI solenoid Replaced the vacuum sensor Replaced all sparks Replaced all coil packs Tested IAT sensor Tested throttle body motor/sensor Cleaned throttle body Changed air, oil and filter I have come to a stand still so have taken it to a specialist Japanese car garage yesterday and they have: Checked theknock sensor Checked the inlet manifold flap Checked exhaust gas pressure Engine compression test Fuel pump pressure test/checked fuel injectors They have come to the conclusion that its the VVTI cam pulley not functioning properly, now ive done some forum reading and apparently theis can leak and the o rings inside the crank/pulley can become rigid over time and leak. During the live data tests he carried out at the garage he said he can see the VVTI system is not switching off, and rotating like it should, like its stuck and not fucntioning, giving me less torque and power through all gears... Now does this does sound like what is happenning when im driving the car. Does this sound familiar to anyone on here with more knowledge than me??? Any help will mean the world!! Cheers!
  3. Hey Colin, i have tried this and i dont have an attached files section appear, ive seen the tutorial and know what should appear but it doesnt appear after ive clicked the more reply option button. **Lastest** Have now changed the spark plugs again and cleaned the throttle body, it is still the same. Put any load on the car what so ever when driving and it goes no where, starts to judder aswell giving a nasty blocked noise of some sort. Feels like im constantly going up hill. Does anyone know of a specialist Lexus/Toyota mechanic?? other than main dealers that will charge me the earth just to read a fault that i cant pick up myself. Cheers!
  4. Im not currently receiving any fault codes. I will re post those pics, but im having trouble uploading images, even after watching the video guide on how to upload images and clicking the 'More Reply Options' button, i just dont have the option to upload an image?? How do i do this?
  5. Yep, the car was running perfectly before the service. Ill try sticking the old sparks back in then. Do you think the spacings are off?? The new ones i used are identical to the old ones. However one of the packets i took 2 out of was a bit battered, the sparks looked fine though.
  6. **UPDATE** So today i replaced the MAP/Vacuum sensor which is the picture i identified above and is located on the right had side of the inlet manifold. I also tested the harness and wiring to the MAP/Vacuum sensor these were all absolutely fine. I also tested the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor within the airbox, including the harness and they are working fine aswell. The car idles perfectly but has complete lack of power when trying to accelerate above 2000 rpm, took it for a spin on the motorway just, trying to build the speed up is very hard and forget about the VVTI kick above 4000 rpm its completely non existent! The EML does not display any faults at all so im stuck as to what i do next. I have now tried CAT cleaner to try shift any ******* but nothing. Im going to try some Redex petrol injector cleaner just incase the fuel injectors are caked in crap after the misfires i talk about on my original post. I had a look down the throttle body today, it needs a clean, which im doing tomorrow with carb cleaner and a toothbrush. On my motorway trip i took some pics of live data off my ECU reader and attached them below: But just for comparision, These first 4 are me stationary with the engine running: These pics below are me driving at 70mph: Im kinda looking at a blank canvass with no fault code eliminating possible causes as i go, any suggestions guys?? For people that understand more than i do, are there any anomalies when comparing the pics when im stationary with the engine running compared to me travelling at 70mph I really need some help, pleassse!
  7. Hey can anyone identlify this as the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor, found it on ebay, looking for a replacement: AND i got a pic of the manifold from an IS200 below, im guessing the MAP sensor is the box in the middle with the red connector, looks like it has vacuum pipes coming from it. Can someone confirm this for me. Cheers!
  8. Hey Guys! Im having issues and would love some advice! im driving a 2000 plate IS200 which ive had for 5 year now. Had the car serviced this week with the usual oil/filter, air and sparks. the next day driving to work the car started chugging big time, hooked up my ecu reader and error codes were telling me misfires on 3 of the cylinders. So i know it was not the sparks, just had them replaced. So replaced all coil packs the problem was then resolved idling was back to normal! BUT now when driving from 2000rmp to 3000rpm the car splutters and has severe lack of power compared to normal. Checked for more error codes and i have P0110 which i know refers to the Intake Air Temperature sensor. However after doing some reading am i right in saying this is refering to the MAP sensor, which may need replacing? Where is the MAP sensor located?? do anyone have a picture i can view so i can check connections and/or replace it. Also is it safe to drive it short distances at the moment? Thanks in advance!!!
