  1. can any 1 help please ? just fitted aftermarket cd player to my is200se but now sat nav has no display

  2. yes you still have to remove the nav unit to access the wiring harness. it's actually simple to do. only difficult part in removing the nav unit is figuring out those 4 clips above the vent, just take your time and take it easy. cheers ears will have a shot at it over the weekend . . what could poosibly go wrong ! :duh:
  3. When I did mine a few years ago, there was only one hack possible and that involved cutting wires. However, now TOM's makes a Plug & Play AV cable harness that simply plugs in and allows this and it costs £99 available from Prolex-UK. This option is better if you are not too confident about cutting wires. If you want to go down this route, then contact Dave at Prolex-UK. The website link for this product is here However, if you want to save yourself the money and are confident with the wire cutting method you can follow this step by step guide. This is the method that i used for mine and i've been using it for nearly 3 years now and all is good (knock on wood) Thanks ahmed that walkthrough looks nice and clear, for the £99 option do you still have to take it all to bits or does it involve another method thanks Hooky
  4. hi guys can anyone direct me to a working link for the walkthrough for playing dvd's & using the sat nav etc while driving, all the topics I have found with info on how to do it have non working links Cheers Hooky
  5. :winky: Ok Thanks, Lexus Coventry are paying for 12 months tax which is great, and I must say they have been spot on to deal with, Recommended !! 6 days to go and then to decide wether its starting on the mod road, dont like pimpin too much but think maybe kit and spoiler enhances the 250
  6. Hi i'm on the lookout for a body kit for a IS 250 dont want to pay top whack so if anyone spots a deal let me know Cheers
  7. With the auto you have the 'S' option to select manual changes using either the stick or the paddles, so best of both worlds really. I'm sure the auto is quicker too. Several peeps on here have suggested the paddle change is no quicker than kick down mode with the auto box, but from my experience in 'S' paddle mode it's much quicker has it holds the lower gears longer. Taking into account the difference in tax, the better mpg and the option to play in 'manual' if you feel the need to, choosing the auto is a no brainer really, and yes the auto box is as smooth as silk. DOH !! should of gone for the auto ! didn't realise there were so many plusses specially the road tax rip off ! niver mind, sure i'll love the new lex! only 5 days to go !!!!!!!
  8. I have just placed a deposit on my used approved is250 sport cadaxton slate with multimedia, collect next week :D I thought I had done plenty of research on here regarding the car but just found out the price hike on car tax cos of the manual gearbox it has, am thinking should I have gone for the auto as everyone keeps raving about how smooth it is !! has anyone got any positives about the manual or is it always a 2nd place, dont know if its just me but I have always felt more enjoyment from driving with manual gear changes but now with the tax kick in the teeth maybe should of looked at auto's only :duh:
  9. Hi Earlier this year I sold my 2001 black IS 200 sport navigator, pretty standard but with the sports grill, had done 120,000 miles a very much loved car, The car paintwork was immaculate, anyway the oil pump failed causing valve damage so I needed a new engine,I decided to cut my losses and sell on e bay no reserve, I had tons of offers but sold it for £900 to someone in the Yorkshire area, I believe its back on the road with a new engine ! has anyone here got it ???? Just I have found the 3rd key for it !!!!! Hooky

  14. Hi Everyone, I am an old returning member from 2005-07 I used to be a regular on here but that was when I still had the burning passion that comes with owning a lexus ! sadly new things in my life changed all that like my 2 boys and working what seems like 20 hours a day, anyway back to the point over christmas my oil pump failed on my is200sport 2001 model causing timing belt damage causing needing a new engine damage :tsktsk: ! ! AARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH Sooooo decided to cut my losses and sold it as was needing an engine ! ( got £1000 on ebay ) This leads me to here and today, I know how amazing and helpfull the members on here are today and I am asking for your help and advice, I was close, very close indeed to buying an Audi A4 but before a deal was struck I saw what was prob an fsport and felt my mouth drop slightly . . . So the problem is I have round £12000 and think after reading some posts on here prob the Is250 is the best car for me, mileage/distance isn't much, but I am now on the hunt, and its all want want want !! would like 18" alloys, multimedia, under 60k and black interior prob black grey or poss silver, so thats really it ! Have I made the right choice ? regarding the 250 / A4 Where is the best place to look and are there any negatives I need to know about with the 250, I have read some negatives on the 220D All help is greatfully recieved :P Thanks Hooky
