  1. i think your right, i got a 2000 sport about a fortnight ago and thinkin of just a replacement air filter and exhaust for now, happy enough with the poke in her at high revs but was looking a little more responsivness at low revs
  2. no i dont think so, i have applied the handbrake gently at bout 20 mph to see if there was any change in the noise but it remained the same, its goin into the garage in 2 days so hopefully i get it sorted and ill share the diagnosis when i get her back lol
  3. well , i just got the new grill fitted today and also went over the headlights with the buffer, the grill was only 40quid including p&p, it isnt real carbon fibre just the effect, quite pleased myself, thinkin of changin for the authentic sports grill??? although this one seems to give it its own personality lol, if that makes sense http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz228/christopherbarry/Cars/P4280420b.jpg
  4. hey dont know if im being stupid here, im a complete noob here, recently purchased an is200, car is very clean, although i have noticed some very slight rust on the inside of one of the arches just above the plastic from the mud flap, its the kind of thing you would never notice, even if you were looking for it but rust on any part of a panel can spread and was wanting to get this fixed in the near future, but am i right in thinking lexus will fix this for free under the 12 year corrosion warranty????
  5. does this 12 year corrosion warranty cover the whole lexus range etc, i have an is200 with very slight corrosion on one of the arches but wanted to get it sorted asap to keep it in mint condition
  6. hi all, new to this forum, recently purchased an is200 sport (waited a long time to get one so want to keep her mint), only just noticed in the last week a very faint whistling noise from the rear wheel driver side area whilst cruising at 30 or so, and when you speed up it gets quicker so its a wheel bearing I think, im not a mechanic so this is a rough guess, is this a common fault etc??? thanks -baz
  7. cheers do i have to wait for the light to come back on, before i take it to a diagnostic, i thought by disconnectin the ecu it wipes it off or will the problem code still be on it .....is there a coomon problem on these that causes this to happen is there anyone had the same problem and cured it by doin eg coil pack or something else , thanks for the quick reply dont think my garage would charge me a fiver thou lol, but i will see if i get any tips or guidelines first, but thank you for your help.... :winky: The EML light shows a fault in the emissions system. Try you filler cap first; if it's not properly tightened i.e. at least 3 clicks past tight, then fuel could be evaporating and the ECU thinks there's a leak. Might not be the cause but it's cheaper then going to a dealer. according to some reviews i have read your local lexus dealer will to a diagnostics check for free
  8. looks well good, although are your fog lights also HID quality or oem??? thought this might a little out of place
  9. hope it never comes to that but yeah the lexus boys know what thier doing
  10. well i finally got one, always wanted one for long time, been looking for few months there while had some money and this one came along, good miles, history, colour, trim etc, new to this website although have been looking at some forums already, some good tips ;) http://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz228/christopherbarry/Cars/smallBAZMedium.jpg
  11. yeah i found some old posts about it, it seems to be a good buy, it will give you more responsiveness and works well when tuned properly on a rolling road, plus working alongside an exhaust and air filter will give a little more torque, so think this would be a good option for an is200 owner (air filter, exhaust, camcon)
  12. i have a de-cat put on yesterday an today its brought the engine management light on any ideas on a way round this ive had it switched off @ a garage but it will probly come back on.. No issue when I put mine on mate so not sure whats causing it. All exhaust related sensors are positioned in similar locations to the OEM system. I found it gave a slightly deeper exhaust note, especially at over 400 rpm but ont excessive. Did you buy a bolt on decat pipe like mine or get a garage to weld you one in? i bought 1 online £120 Thats probably the same as I've got then. Can't see why the engine light comes on but do a ECU reset and hope it stays off after that as i think the increased flow causes it to come on as its out of the set tolerences but resetting creates a new baseline value based on the new flow rate and should be ok. can u do an ecu reset by disconnecting battery for a minute ??? whats ur method??
  13. yeah i agree, sounds great, and also loving the drifting, what air filter and exhaust systems are you using???, great set up by the sounds of it lol
  14. yes deckie i think that is going to be the road i have to take, or the boat for that matter lol, thought it might be too much hassle to go over to the mainland at first but it doesnt cost that much really, and the cars in england and scotland are a good bit cheaper than here in the north of ireland, so unless anything comes up during the week i might organise a day trip next weekend, prob get the boat to scotland and go from there
  15. i was browsing the internet as you do, and came across this item which will work with the uk spec is200 1g-fe engine, would this item be a good idea to install after the air filter and exhaust upgrade i am planning to make, it seems like a very useful device and wanted the owners club feedback before making any rash decisions http://www.nengun.com/power-enterprise/camcon
  16. hey all ,new to the owners club, but not an official owner just yet thanks to some ***** who made me drive half way across the north of ireland only to tell me he had just sold the car 5 minutes before i had arrived, even though he knew i was coming down to see it, gutted, she was a clinker too, low mileage, service history sport model, immaculate condition, thing thats even more gutting is that the car was bought by some father who bought it for his 19/20 year old son, i will just have to be patient i suppose and wait for another to spring up, hopefully sooner than later, im tempted to spend the cash on something stupid lol, anyway hi to all owners, hopeing to melt some heads with many questions on suttle modifications i plan to make (air filter, exhaust)
