  1. Can anyone advise if a rear coil spring from a 2017 RX450H will fit a 2010, please?
  2. My nearside rear coil spring has snapped on my 2010 RX450H. Does anyone out there know if a later model one, like a 2015 would fit?
  3. I've just managed to get a genuine pump at half price, so hopefully all will be resolved. I don't think I'd trust those axle stands!!! Thanks anyway.
  4. Thanks John. The big problem would be, closing the door after the horse has bolted. Thanks for the info.
  5. I've just returned from a 200 mile round trip from Norfolk to Buckinghamshire and on the outward journey the 'check hybrid system' warning light showed up. I managed to get a slot in the Chalfont St. Giles main dealer and they put a diagnostic test on it and it showed a power glitch, which they cleared and I went on my way. I noticed that when the 'CHS' light was on, the screen showing the power and energy distribution wasn't doing it's job and also the cruise control wasn't working. After it was cleared it all fired up again. On the homeward journey, it all happened again. So as I had booked a service with Norwich Lexus, I asked them to do a diagnostic check and it came up with a fault code P2603, a hybrid oil pump pressure control fault and to rectify this, it was going to cost £1266.63....GASP!! The technician said he would have to run a series of checks to make sure it was as he suspected, that the pump would 80% chance of having to be changed. The part price is £714.00. Has anyone else experienced the same problem. I can get a genuine Lexus part on Ebay for £389. But do I trust it's genuine?
  6. I've tried everywhere in the country for a towbar for my 2010 450 and no-one has one. In the end, I've had to go to Lexus in Norwich and they've ordered one from Japan, coming on the 6th August. Luckily they have given me one at almost cost, but still £480 without fitting and electrics.
  7. Thanks Chris for that. I remember you said that you had to pay duty and the like that drove the price up. Mine came from the states and the price I paid was the ebay price and postage and that was it. The guy that supplied it had no problem with me sending it back which I did for the refund. I remember comparing it with my friend's one and feel sure it was to do with the section that went into the side tracks. I think you really got lucky and maybe they used 2 different sizes in the States or decided at some time to standardize the fitting across the globe. I'm now waiting on a reply from a breaker to see if the car he is dismantling has one here in the UK. These things are like Rocking Horse S***! It's amazing how many people have taken them out of their vehicles put them in garage never to be seen again, which is exactly what happened to mine. I contacted the previous owner and he had moved.
  8. Hi Dennis, Thanks for that. I've just contacted him and am waiting for a reply. Cheers Chris.
  9. It was while ago, but isn't there a spring-loaded protusion that locates either side in the track section? When I compared the one from The States to one that a friend has near here, there was a difference in the diameter of the bar/protusion; and that's why it got jammed in when I tried to fit it. It was a devil of a job to get it out again. That's the reason I was hoping to get a UK/ European version.
  10. Hi Chris, I'm also looking for a cargo cover and I sourced one from the states, but the rods on either side were the wrong size for slots. How did you make yours' fit? Mine was jammed in and required a bit of brutish treatment to get it out. Another Chris.
  11. Hi, Does anyone know where I can source a second hand cargo cover in cream for my old Rx400h. It's a 2005 model. I tried one from the States and they don't fit European models. Would appreciate some help. Thanks.
  12. What is the actual colour of your Rx and did the touch ups match?
  13. At last. Well done, Colin. Aleutian Grey! Yes. I just want some touch up paint. In fact I need a spray can. Do they do spray cans as well as the touch up pots, do you know? Thanks. Chris.
  14. Thanks for answering but that doesn't ring a bell. I think that colour may have been used on later models than my 2005 RX.
  15. Can anyone help me to identify the colour of my 2005 RX400H? It's the dark grey metallic with blue and gold sparkles in the paint. I did know it once but my memory's given up on me. I saw one on Autotrader and it was described as pearlescent grey; but that didn't ring a bell. I may be wrong. Please help!
  16. If I remember correctly, they were Bridgestones, because I think the tyre people told me that they were the only manufacturer that made a tyre to fit the RX400H; almost as if Lexus had made a one off rim size. Now, obviously other makers are doing them. The ones I changed the Bridgestones for are Marangoni Mateo HP SUV's. They have quite a deep cut tread and are slightly noisier (tyre rumble) but were pretty cheap. Less than a £100.00 each. But they grip very well and show no sign of wear after three months. Are they the cause of worse fuel consumption? I don't know!
  17. Same for me. Took out the battery and replaced with a new one and it worked.
  18. When it was voted best car of the year in What Car in the mid noughties, they weren't kidding. I've never driven anything like my old 2005 RX400H SE. Keep thinking about a change and then you wonder 'why bother'. If it ain't broke....... as they say! Cheap insurance and crazy performance when needed.( It actually frightens me sometimes when I have to put my foot down hard to get out of a situation). Fabulous ride and luxury comfort. All in all, a great all rounder!
  19. 31- 33 in the summer and 27-29 in the winter. I'm thinking that changing all my tyres recently has seriously affected mpg. Possible drag effect because of deeper grooving on the treads? Don't know.
  20. I am in complete agreement with all those that say they're a bit rubbish. I'm in Norfolk as well and street lighting is ver often confined to towns only. Many times I've missed walls and trees by the skin of my teeth. Talking about teeth! It reminds me of when I bought some O*** B toothpaste the other week and it describes how it will remove 80% of tooth stains within a fortnight. It didn't, so I wrote and complained. They wrote back to say that their toothpaste removes surface debris, enhancing the look of the teeth, but does not have any whitening or bleaching effect whatsoever. Now is that misleading or what? All manufacturers will come up with something to get themselves off the hook!
