  1. Evening all. On my 2003 IS300 Sports Cross, I've recently upgraded the OEM headunit to a JVC chap (very pleased). Had to bypass the amp to get this to work, which I now believe has rendered the sub in the boot (OEM fitted on IS300 S/Cross) not working.... Any thoughts on how to get the OEM unit working again ?? Any help much appreciated, Regards Rich.
  2. You can replace the HU for the IS200 S/C with OEM Nav - with the amp bypass lead - you need to remove the larger plug from the rear of the amp...NOT the lead that originally plugged into the old HU...lots of guides on the interweb to get access to the Amp - i'm not massively technically able but was able to follow a very simple guide with pics to perform this and it didn't take long. I've just done this for my IS300 S/C with OEM Sat Nav and found the following two things: 1) OEM Sat Nav no longer works - the original HU controls this so renders the OEM Sat Nav useless - after quite some research there was a guy on this Forum (Fargo) who create a "SatNav" by pass that allows a replacement HU and allows the OEM Sat Nav to work. 2) If like my IS300 you have the rear sub (in the boot on the right hand side) this will no longer work....bugger. Pleased with my new HU but a bit annoyed about OEM (more annoyed about Sub no longer working).... Any advice on the sub chaps ? Cheers Rich
  3. Janet - thanks for looking and the reply....I'll have a pop at taking a photo and posting it to see if it's just my unslightly bulges that are a problem Tara R
  4. Evening all... Have an '03 IS300 S/X - fantastic motor....though my wife has complained when sitting in the back (looking after screaming baby!) that the lower lumbar support is uncomfortable. On looking at it - it does seem to sit quite proud from the rest of the back.... So...does anyone have either the same problem or a photo of their rear seat in a S/Cross that i can look at to compare what mine looks like....if i remember I'll post one of mine (seat ahem!)... Thanks R
  5. Hi mate - thanks for posting.... The satnav closes fine with ignition on (pressing the open close button)...it's when the unit is open and you switch the ignition off that it doesn't close fully. I can push it closed no problem....It's almost as though with the new battery, once the ignition is turned off there isn't enough power supply getting to the unit to allow time for it to fully close...which is odd !!!
  6. Folks, looking for some advice - i've done a search but can't seem to find this problem... I have an IS300 S/C - 03 plate...great car. Has factory fitted Lexus satnav that works a treat...apart from following a battery change...the screen now no longer fully closes when switching off the ignition. It partially closes but stops about an inch short of flush closure...seems odd and only occurred following taking the car battery out and replacing with a new unit. Any thoughts about how to address - it's almost like the unit needs 'resetting' to understand where the close point of the screen is...but that's me guessing. Welcome any advice and thanks in advance... Rich
  7. Kam - found your upgrades whilst looking at a different thread - would love to know where you got some of your upgrades from - specifically the washer jets and the short antenna...nice looking motor...cheers - rich (is300).
