  1. Ebay's ya best bet. Welcome to LOC. Mike
  2. I had the same with my MKIV, all the insurance companies I spoke to insisted on a CAT 1 alarm / Imobiliser. Luckily, they all came back and said it's standard on the car. Seems a bit pointless insisting on it then if it's standard? Not sure about the MK2, but I'm sure someone will be along soon that knows :) Thanks Mike
  3. I have recently (within the last month) taken my LS key into Lexus Reading for a battery change and was charged £7, including fitting. I didn't think that was too bad. Thanks Mike
  4. Toxo, Yeah, thanks for the reply. The fault is intermittent, so I'm just going to have to keep an eye on it. Thanks again, Mike
  5. Hi and welcome to LOC. Turbo'd IS200, nice :) Mike
  6. I'm with Andy on this..... "What's a cassette" I wondered what that slot on the stereo was for...I us it to hold my phone :) Mike
  7. OK, dumb question..... What does the ballast pack look like, where is it and how easy is it to swap over? Ok, 3 dumb questions, but this is my first experience of HID's :) Thanks Mike
  8. Hi all, I have a '98 MKIV with HID headlamps and every now and then one of them goes out. If I turn the lights off and then back on, it comes back on OK. I have just changed the bulbs as I thought it was that.....but it's the same. Any ideas what it might be? Thanks Mike
  9. Hi and welcome to LOC....I too am in Berkshire :) Mike
  10. If you can get them on a pallet securely, I may be able to help..... I'm a Logistics Manager and could have a word with my haulier. Would need to be secure on a pallet though. PM if you're interested. Mike
  11. Hi and welcome to LOC... Good luck with your search! Mike
  12. Hello and welcome to LOC! Mike
  13. Well, The chap came today (due at 9.30am-9.45am) at 9.40am and started work. Once he emptied the system, he said it was down to 50% but not to worry as they work down to 30%. He then refilled it and checked for leaks using a UV lamp. There were no leaks and when we tested the temp coming from the vents in the car, it was an icy 2.8 degrees. Nice. I would recommend this chap and still don't think £50 was bad for a "proper" mobile job. I just need it to get hotter now so I can feel the benefit. Thanks Mike
  14. Thanks guys. I have fitted the new bulbs via the hedlamp out route and it was really easy. I fitted some 10000k jobs from Ebay and they are......well, really blue....Not sure if they'll be legal, they are that blue. We will see. Thanks Mike
  15. Thanks for the tips guys. I'll go with removing the headlights first but I'm not renowned for my finesse :( Thanks again, Mike
  16. Hi all, I've just orderd a pair of headlight bulbs for my MKIV. I've just been out to check the oil and thought I'd have a quick look at how much room there is behind the headlights, not alot :) It looks to me that on one side, the battery needs to come out and on the other, the air filter. Or is it just easier to drop the headlights out? Thanks Mike
  17. Hi all, I just thought I would pass this on. A couple of years ago, I used this guy to recharge my aircon on my Vauxhall Omega. Today I booked him to do my LS400 on Tuesday as the air con is cold, but not ice cold!. He tells you what you should have in the system, "sucks" out whats currently in there, weighs it to tell you how much you've lost and then regasses it to the correct level. Cost of this is £50+VAT. I know if you're not in the Reading area, you'll get a different bloke, but....... The website can be found Here I will let you know how it goes. Thanks Mike
  18. Hi and welcome to LOC. I do like the GS300 :) Mike
  19. Hi and welcome to LOC!
  20. He has answered your question on the listing now... When I had an LPG car, I was told to expect 85% of my petrol MPG on gas, so if he's getting 18 on petrol, 16 on gas doesn't seem too far off the mark, bear in mind you getting gas for just over 50% of the cost of petrol. Does sound genuine enough and if he wasn't so far from me, I'd have a punt.....His feedback is good too. At the end of the day, it depends where his reserve sits... Let us know if you go for it. Mike
