  1. Hi all, firstly thanks to all who posted info about this problem.I accidently came accross this post,i am dyslexic so tend to be reluctant to read unless it is relevant too me. I was having problems turbo lag etc, but no more due to a new engin and a new cam belt kit all suplyed by Lexus :-) so thanks to you all, i have posted all details, under - header tank overflowing.
  2. Hi have you looked at this post Is220D Head Gasket Gone extended waranty up to 110k or 7 years on the engin.
  3. Hi all this is my first post ,I have a 2006 IS220d SE. My problem is i notest that the engin noise was a little louder than normal, so gave it a little rev and could hear the turbo a little rattley(engin at correct temp). I drove home about 7 or 8 miles with a trailor in tow and timber, (turbo has given a little more lag at times than norm) when i got home i poped the bonnet the coolant was sprayed about the engin and when reved the coolan was being pushed up out of the overflow pipe (which is only short about 100mm) the turbo is definately rattley and when it kicks in definately pushes the water up and out of the header tank. Their is no oil water mixing with the oil (no scum in cap) no smoke no real power loss. i have not come across a problem like this befor, so , so far i presume that the turbo is leaking gases into the coolant system????? any help with this would be greatly appriciated, if i can do the job my self even better Update i notised that one of the two pipes coming from the back of the turbo was split (left one) i have cut it down and refitted, Turbo sounds much better but still same prob as above. Update: Headgasket was the problem. I sent the car off to Belfast for Lexus to look at and just as your chap in Pool Dorcet, i had a phone call a day and a half later from Karen Lexus. They had looked at the car and found that it was the fault that they recodnised and that the car was ready to be picked up as soon i liked, Lexus picked up the bill (my jaw was on the floor) all i had to pay was £64 for the consumables. I was up there like a shot ;-) and handed over the cash lol. Befor setting off My son and i thought to have a look at the nice shiny new engin :-) when we looked my son noticed that the cam belt was over the lip of the pully and badly freyed. We went to inform the sales chap and he apolagised and said tha it would be fixed and they would deliver the car down to me, and they did. I had 104,000 miles on that engin (the max is 110/111,000) or 7years old. You must have full service history for the engin. It must be the problem that they recodnise for the courtiousy of them paying for it. I have nothing but Praise for Lexus, and it is a great car . Thanks Chuckie888 short and sweet answer just what i needed thanks again.
