  1. Yep im in NI! Dunno havent thought about yet, one of the mates went to a similiar event and said it was good craic so i might take a run up. Good luck gettin the car 100% again!
  2. The V dub is very nice, cool summer car! Few answers: (1) I would have thought about £3.5K although I paid £5.8K last year for my Nov.2003 IS200 Sport with Aero kit (32k miles) but the Irish channel adds about a grand on to any car! (2) The head unit problem is a common fault on IS200s.....luckily mine is ok at the moment, touch wood. OEM Radios come up on eBay time to time but id replace it with a nice Alpine Head unit if it’s broken. (3) My mpg is woeful but its worth it for the car...I have what you say 'Heavy foot' syndrome as I love the purr of the straight six at high revs and the car doest really move til at least 4K revs anyway! I get about 20 - 25 mpg on average. (4) Think the car looks well and I think the aero kit looks good on the lex.
  3. Dunno to be sure but I think it would be more or a clicking noise if it were the plugs. I actually went to look at a silver IS in carrick before i got mine that did this. Started her up and heard the noise when i revved the engine, so I walked away from it as i was worried it could be valve damage or something! Id just get her serviced if I were you and take it from there. Im no mechanic so maybe one of the more experienced members can give their opinion???
  4. Id check your coolant levels first, maybe they are low. Failing that, have you had your timing belt replaced recently, could be an issue with timing.......posssibly.
  5. The Higher grade petrol is better for any car! In my opinion my Is200 ran better when on it, definitely a cleaner burn and what felt like a sharper car but who can afford £1.47 a litre every top up, not me! Often wondered about Supermarket petrol myself but I don’t think it’s any worse than its equivalent at other petrol stations.
  6. If its flashing then it could indicate a fault on the system (If its not the bulbs as the other poster suggested), id get it checked by a garage. Not sure about the handbrake light, could be the sensor of perhaps the handbrake shoes are seized or aren’t releasing properly?
  7. This happened to me 2 weeks ago and only recently have the keys started working properly again. I set the alarm off one morning so I drove straight to the dealer and when I got there it was working again! Drove back to the house and again the car keys wouldn’t lock or unlock the car as you described. They worked everywhere else but my house! It has been on and off like that for about 2 weeks but now its working fine (Touch Wood). Been looking into this and apparently radio interference can affect the transmitter. Wireless devices among other thing work using the same registered frequency as the keys.
  8. Was quoted £496 the other day for a 40k service and £600 for the timing belt change (Pump, Idler, Tensioner)from my Lexus Dealership, at which point i marched straight out! Got all the parts (Genuine) for £350 by the way.
  9. Suppose so but they are bound to say to keep it on the red as ill be back to them sooner looking more! Cheers
  10. Nope you're fine, that's the correct size for the upgraded wheels. Ok, cheers
  11. Just wondering if it is ok to put the pink Coolant (Super Long Life) into the system after the water pump etc is changed? I know the car has the red one in at the moment but surely it would be better to use the pink one as it lasts longer? Cheers
  12. Hi, Ive got 225/40/18's all round, is this wrong then? Its a IS200 2003 Sport w. Aero pack. Cheers

  15. Aye, I checked all of the lights and not one was out.Ill replace the brakelights and hopefully that fixes it. Funny enough, it hasnt been on again since I posted this! Cheers
  16. Alright all, I was just wondering if anyone has had a problem with the tail light warning indicator coming on in the dash intermittently? Ive checked all the rear lights and they are working so im assuming maybe there is an Electric fault somewhere? Don’t want to bring it to the garage if it’s a simple fix. Any comments would be great. Cheers
  17. I recently bought a 2003 model and it has a full Lexus service history. The car has only covered 33000 miles.....i wonder if they did all this work regardless seeing as it is supposed to be replaced after 6 years?? I may ring them, heres hoping. Not looking forward to forking out that sort of dough if not!
  18. Very nice car mate! That looks like a good backbox too, id like to get my standard exhaust upgraded to something similiar.
  19. Ill let you know next time i get the weather for driving with the sunroof open! I dont think it did when it was fully open but did when tilted from memory.
  20. Before i bought the car i was searching for reviews etc and this site kept coming up so as soon as i got the car i joined up. Some really good useful info in the forums.
  21. The only reason i dont drive with if off more often is because of the TRC OFF light in the dash, the orange light reminds me of an engine warning light! I think the car is much better when its turned off though, you can properly gun it about the corners!
  22. Yeah I tried pulling the lining but it didn’t make much difference. Also I did what Paradroid said and that does seem to work however temporary. Maybe the Rubber seal is worn down or certain cars sunroofs closing mechanisms are a bit tighter than others, I dunno. Ill just have the music on loud to drown it out! Cheers
  23. Hi there ive recently bought an IS200 Sport and thats my only complaint....the sunroof does my head in! What do you mean by the roof lining, the upholstered bit? Cheers
