I've had an occasional problem with loss of power when accelerating hard in 2nd gear for some time now, but it's only every few weeks, so I haven't bothered about it. Yesterday the engine appeared to be "mis-firing" when climbing a hill in 6th at around 60mph. I don't think a diesel can "mis-fire" as such, can it ? I'm going to use a diesel injector cleaner as a first step.

Prash, are you in the UK ? Do all UK cars have this 100,000 mile / 7 yr warranty on the engine or did it start on a particular date ?

I get that occasionally, 90% of the time it's when putting the power down in 2nd on a sharp right hand bend just after a sharp left (20mph) at the end of a fast downhill section of road. I thought it might be to do with the fuel sloshing around in the tank. The other 10% of the time I don't know, I thought it might be the fuel filter ?

Hi all, just a recommendation really. This is my first winter with my IS220D and I was concerned about how poorly the car would perform in the snow and ice, as it's rear wheel drive (plus my boss has the same car and his was terrible last year). I fitted a set of Continental WinterContact about 2 weeks ago (Kwik Fit, believe it or not, £410 fitted when bought online). I've been having great fun up in the North of Scotland this week overtaking 4x4s on the back roads, what a difference (compared with my previous cars fitted with standard tyres). Loads of traction and the back end only steps out when you do it on purpose, no need to switch the TC off when pulling away up icy hills etc. Thumbs up from me !

Hi, I'm looking to buy a set of aftermarket mats which fit really well, probably rubber but carpet would do, as long as they fit the IS220D floorplan REALLY well. Can anyone recommend ? Can anyone supply photos ? Thanks.

Hello all, just got my first Lexus, and have a question. The buttons which control the stereo and climate don't seem to be illuminated or backlit in any way, it's very hard to see them in the dark, is this normal or do I have a problem ?

Hello from another new member. Took delivery last week of a 08 reg IS 220D with 16,000 miles. Can't believe it is possible to buy so much car for a shade over thirteen grand. Not really had the chance to take it out for much of a drive yet, but it's a very nice place to sit inside ! Anyway, have a few questions now which I will post (hopefully) in the correct subforums.
