  1. June is a bad month for me, the only weekend i have off I have allready made plans for, perhaps next year, should have a RCF by then :)
  2. Unfortunately working that day.
  3. Pram nope, even some of these buggy’s are huge, and even if you did manage to get one to fit you wouldn’t have room for anything else. I would leave it a couple of years until your child can comfortably sit in a car seat and you only need a small buggy, then perhaps you could even stretch to a MK4 which has a 50% larger boot.
  4. Sounds about right, I was offered an extended warranty on my last GS 450 for just under 1k, and it had only covered 13k miles. Unfortunately its not the miles it’s the age, once it is 3 years old the car is out of warranty, so you could buy a brand new car put it in your garage and not use it and it would still be out of warranty after 3 years. I find this very annoying 3 years or 60k miles, if they are willing the replace any part up to 60k miles then what has time got to do with it, I can’t think of many parts that would fale after just time and no use, it should be at least a 5 year warranty.
  5. Would you consider buying the car back from the insurance company, I think its 10% of the cars value and then getting it repaired yourself, or is the damage to great?
  6. I think with all the new polishes, waxes and sealants that are around now you don’t really need a electric polisher, they seem to go on and come off without to much effort, compared to the polishes from years back, the only reason I would probably use it for was removing light scratches and swirl marks. I did once look into buying one, if its purely designed for car polishers then I would say it should be safe and they are designed not to damage your paint, year ago before car polishers were designed people used to put a pad on the end of a drill and wondered why they burnt and damaged there paint work.
  7. Hi, isf owners, quick question. I am considering the RCF when it comes out next year, but I do 4000 mile a year max, only short 5/6 mile trips and perhaps a 300 mile round trip once , possibly twice a year, am I going to have problems with the engine?.
  8. Hi Jay, I did concoider it for my car, just the bumber but i dont do very much motorway driving and touch wood i am chip free so far. i think your looking at around £600 instaled for the bumper, have a look at the links below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA7yCujMCNk http://www.3mventureshield.co.uk/paint-protection-film/ i think its worth doing if you do a lot of motorway driving and if you intend on keep your car a few years, the problem is that you will have to sort out the chips first before haveing it done, so £300 for a bumper re spray and another £600 for the clear bar, so not much change from a grand.
  9. I very much doubt that even with a smart repair policy it would include re spraying panels or even sections of panel, more like touch up. Even a good smart repairer would not attempt to repair a section of a panel, my brother in law has a stone chip in the middle of his bonnet, smart repairers won’t touch it. Your best bet it to wait until you have so many stone chips on you bumper that you con no longer live with it and then have the complete bumper re sprayed, if you someone who does a lot of motorway driving and seems to get a lot of stone chips and you intend to keep your car a few years you may want to concider clear barm, if its installed properly you wont even see its there.
  10. There is nothing wrong with a corsa.lol. Any way think of it like this, at least the Speedo needle on the corsa is moving up quicker than the fuel gauge needle on your isf is moving down, just. Lol.
  11. They have a certain profit margin , so go back a see if they can do you a better deal, ring other dealerships and bargain one of against the other.
  12. I get them to replace my fob battery every 2 years on the service; I have never been charged for one yet. :D
  13. I didn’t notice any of that there was something else on the video that was distracting me.
  14. I had a email a few days ago saying that I had won, my insurance is due end of June. I will get a quote from them but unfortunately previous quotes have not been competitive enough for me to take out there insurance.
  15. If my cars hot I can fill up at my local petrol garage, drive out of the garage on electric power, immediately travel down a hill, into a left hand corner also down hill and into my drive, my m.p.g shows 99.9 lol, mind you it changes to 38 m.p.g when I drive back out again.lol.
  16. There is only one way into Bluewater, just stay to the righr hand side as you enter the Bluewater slip road, follow the road round, straight across about 3 roundabouts it is sign posted “ Cinema in brown signs”. As you follow the cinema car park sign off to the left keep right , this will put you in the middle car park, the left lane will put you up on the roof, Follow the road around until the last car park ( you cant go anywere else ) and make your way over to the far left hand corner.
  17. ( Policeman ).. “ can you prove this is your car sir?” ( Owner ) “ yes I have concrete proof officer “
  18. Hi, Stu We have had a meet at Bluewater before, KentIS300 ( Vasilis ) organised it, ( he likes his Donuts.lol ) we met in the cinema car park level 2, top right hand side by the exit, 1st Feb ----working 9th Feb ---- 50/50 16th Feb --- should be OK unless called into work
  19. Roger (quote) I'm interested in your comments about the GS450h. My motoring does include parking in some tight spaces and c15% of my mileage is on narrow roads in places like Cornwall. How do you think the GS would be in this type of environment? I guess it'll be a matter of personal preference but if I find neither the RC or the new Merc C Class are suitable, I could be seriously tempted by a nearly new GS450h which now seem a lot of car for the money. The RC is the same width as the GS but 155mm shorter
  20. Agree about the grill, the GS looked the same but by the time the UK model has the number plate across the front it will break it up a bit, just hope it doesn’t spoil the look.
  21. This car looks tempting, will be interesting to see what power trains come to the UK, I notice that the forum doesn’t mention the RCF. I love my GS , but really its to big for just one person, although I believe that the new IS is based on the GS platform so if the new RC is using the same platform there may not be a lot in it. At 52 I haven’t really had, what I would call a muscle car, although I suppose the GS comes fairly close, on the other hand I don’t use the full potential of the GS and spend most of the time in eco mode poodling around so a V8 would be a waist. Fuel economy wouldn’t bother me as I only cover around 4k a year, but road tax would be triple. Anyone else interested in the RC?
  22. I believe the “ Best MPG” is something you can save rather than something that will be automatically displayed, in other words after a certain time or journey you can save your MPG, as your “ Best MPG”, then after time if your average mpg is greater than you “Best MPG” you can replace and save that to your “ Best MPG. I have just read that back to myself and it sounds as clear as mud. Lol. Hopefully your get the gist of it.
  23. The problem with this type of issue is that each rattle, creak and squeak can come from a different part on each person’s car. It could also be temperature related, in the cold weather trim contracts, witch could cause the noise, does the noise improve when the interior of the car warms up?. I had a very small creak coming from my front passenger door, like most quiet noises its some thing only I seem to be able to hear, so I was very surprised when I took it into Lexes that there mechanic said that he had also herd it, he put it down to the noise coming from the rubber door trim and sprayed it with something that had to be left for 4 hours to soak in, this solved the problem for a few month but unfortunately the noise has come back, so I will have to get them to have another look when I have the car serviced in June.
  24. Its just a upgraded sound system from the standard one.
  25. It maybe just a condensation problem, if your getting a lot of condensation on all your windows then try leaving the A/C on all the time, this will help to dry out the air in your car and reduce condensation, however if it just coming from your sunroof then take advice from above
