  1. stolen to order by professional thieves which is why i feel a staring lock would not be adequate.
  2. Agree party in what you have said cars are stolen for various reasons, from the guys who have just come out of a pub and don’t want to walk home to the cars stolen by professionals to order. so I think it would depend on who you are trying to protect you car from. Iam not saying a professional gang can’t get round the most advanced system available, but if they can remove a CAT from a car in seconds then a steering lock is not going to be a problem
  3. i have the Ghost fitted, touch wood i haven't had any issues over the past 3 years so i can't comment on the customer support side of things, only that the guy who fitted it spent a long time telling and showing me how it all worked, he also rang me a week later to make sure i was happy with everything.
  4. Protective film is not fitted by Lexus as standard, your probably looking at around 5k if the compete car is done properly. There its such thing as Anti chip paint, in fact Lexus has one of the softest paints going, you will get stone chips They do have self healing paint , if you have a light scratch and poor warm water on it, or leave the car out in the sun it car reduce or in some instances completely remove them.
  5. Ghost immobilisers are not easy to find, they are as big as a stick of chewing gum, they are normally fitted inside any part of the the wiring loom, not just under the bonnet, they carefully unwrap the tape surrounding the main loom, wire in the Ghost, slide the unit into the loom and re rap it, if its done right it is as near as impossible to find.
  6. I have the same problem with the LC, front and back I find this tool very handy,
  7. when i made enquires about having the 21" wheel repaired there was only a couple of places in the country that could do them, at the time ( 2 years ago ) it was £175 for a smart repair that was not noticeable from 1meter away, or a full refurb at £750. in both cases the wheel had to be sent to them, the turn around time was 5/6 days for the smart repair and 9/10 days for the complete refurb.
  8. Lol, a bit different with Drum breaks. discs are out in the elements so get covered in water anyway,
  9. I didn't notice any difference when they changed mine, although i may not be the best person to compare with as i am not a harsh breaker. by the way they still squeal even after replacement, possibly not so much, i use iron remover and jet wash them each week and that seems to help
  10. sorry i would have come , but on Holiday
  11. I think your dealership representative got confused with Sat Nav updates, and software up dates, your now have to pay for sat nav map updates, but not for software updates.
  12. Years ago It used to be a £1000 extra, but these days it just seem to go on the model and you can’t seem to add it as an extra personally I reckon they will offer a couple of free services or something like that rather than cash
  13. Anything is possible, I bet it will cost a bit though, new head unit, speakers and amp, because of the cost I recon they will say it’s not possible and offer you some sort of compensation
  14. what happens when you bring up your tyre pressure on the display, does it show any of the tyres low?
  15. Thanks Ken, I haven’t got one yet, but it’s on my retirement list, I may look at the RZ, but I am not totally confident in the charging info structure yet even though I would only need over 200 miles 4/5 times a year
  16. Thanks Ken, that's interesting to know, was this just normal driving around, i was thinking to possibly use on a motorway when traveling at 70mph, however it may not make any difference to your result not knowing exactly how the charging system works
  17. Lexus did put out a email to all Hybrid owners during lockdown/Covid, suggesting you put the ignition on, wait until the Green "READY" light comes on and leave it a hour and to do this once a week if the car is not used.
  18. Alan , have you ever used the engine to re charge the battery, say when you doing motorway driving, if so any idea what it does to the mpg?
  19. This is why i think the 450h+ would be perfect for me, easily enough range for my day to day use, but i also want a 200 mile drive every 3/4 months, and at this point of time i just want the hassle of charging away from home, depending when i decide to change things could change, more and easier assessable charging points and even perhaps longer range on electric cars like the RZ
  20. On retirement my life situation will change and my LC will no longer be a practical car to own. i will need a car which will comfortably seat 3 adults , with the possibility or car seats, and then children ( not mine lol. ), and a medium to large Dog. i have looked at the NX45h+ and feel that this car will fit my needs. During lock down owners of Hybrid cars had problems with the cars battery because they were not being used, i remember Lexus sending out a email suggesting owners turn on the ignition until the READY light coms on and leave it a hour and do this a couple of time a week, potentially, with the miles i will travel, i may only use the engine and Hybrid system 3/4 times a year when i travel more than 35 miles. so my question is....if you don't use your 450h+ much, and only purely drive it on electric will this have any damaging effect on the cars engine and Hybrid system?. thinking about it this is probably a silly question as i would have hoped Lexus would have thought of this, but i would like to here your opinions
  21. i can't see how they can fit the same infotainment system from the NX into the LC without completely changing the dash layout, and i am not sure Lexus will do this as i think the LC production will come to a end as the new electric version will take over, building V8's just for the LC seems unlikely to me
  22. Sorry on holiday, unless something happens.
  23. yes i agree the road tax is very unfair if you dont do a lot of miles, my LC is coming up to 5 years old with less than 9k on the clock, just a shame you have waited so long to get one, yours looks very nice and i would be surprised is you had any problem in finding it another owner,
