  1. that doesn't seem a bad drop for a 6 years old car, just under 50%, i have cars that have only been 3 years old and have lost 50%, i know that's what they are up for, how much they sell for may be a different matter.

That was one of the factors that made me decide to sell - the dickheads would trash it anyway before they find out it's not possible to steal it.

I partly feel the same Brett, but i love the car, and why should i sell it for that reason. plus if i changed model i would probably be in the same situation.

I ordered the only LC500 Ultimate Edition Coupe a couple of weeks ago which was already in the UK in their depot. Waiting to collect in the next few days. Dealership told me that this is the last coupe that arrived in the UK and production has stopped.

I was mostly looking for the panoramic 360 camera and trouchscreen is the bonus.

so your getting the last LC500 to arrive in the UK , and I have the first LC 500 to arrive in the UK, ( for customer use ) its a small world.

  4. A minor service is £415

    A major service is £770

    Total for the 2 years is £1185 ( 10% discount £1066 ) ( 15% discount £1007 )

As a member of the LOC you should get a 10% discount or even 15% if your also a good customer

It is possibly that service costs could rise each year, something to consider.

I have a ghost II fitted that came with warning stickers.  What is the concensus re putting them on the windows  - yay or nay?

The way i look at it is that if you dont have the sticker on then they are going to attempt to steel it, ( damage to your car )if it does have the sticker on it may stop them from attempting to steel it. ( no damage to your car )

i dont think it would be easy to find, its only as big as a stick of chewing gum and can be fitted Anywhere within  the wiring loom, under the bonnet, within the passenger compartment or even the boot, that's a lot of places to look

Small advice put you Lexus nx keys in  like connection blocking bag a small one and sorry to hear that

Unfortunately they dont need your keys or have to scan for a signal from your keys in your house

they just pull back the wheel arch cover or pull back the bumper, connect there device and drive it away.

the only way your going to stop them taking it would be to fit a Ghost or similar or a well hidden cut out switch.

as for them trying to steel it and causing damage to your car, i dont really know, a deterrent may help, but profenanals will get round anything you fit

I must admit it left a sour taste, as did not getting to test drive the 2nd car after driving a 6hr round trip to see it.

I must have been a bit miffed as I found myself in my local Aston Martin dealer this afternoon looking at a couple of very nice Vantages that they have. The 'New' face-lifted Vantage is due out in the next couple of weeks, so will be interesting to see the impact on 2nd hand values.

I'm still very much looking at LC's though... what's the deal with the wheels on this car; not sure if I like the effect or not.

Looks like the previous owner has opted for the 20' wheels which i believe come from the base model LC, rather than the 21' wheels that are standard on the sport model, probably for a more comfortable ride, or they just didn't like the 21' wheel design.

Don’t tell me that…. mine is due in the autumn!!

Your safe Marcus, they used to charge more, they don't now its just the normal Major service cost although they will probably try to sell you some add ons, fuel adaptive, ect.

Am I right in thinking they basically have two prices for a major or minor service?  Although what’s required at any specific one is different, the prices tend to be the same.

For the RCF they alternate major/minor/major etc.  sometimes your major will need spark plugs or a diff oil change (for example) but the price will stay the same, meaning sometimes it’s good value, others it seems a bit dear….

Yes i think you are right, i am sure they had a extra higher cost for the 6 year / 60.000miles service for plugs

i think they have just spread the cost between all the minor and major services.

Have you found this to be true (that Lexus replace it)?  Lexus Chalfont declined this on mine (approved used, purchased October 23) in Jan 24...

Perhaps you can both get together on this, as i have said it is a issue with the LC, in the US and here, it should be covered by a re call but Lexus don't seem to treat there European customers the same as the US,

Could someone kindly advise what the Lexus fix is for the fuel flap not opening problem. After 4 and a bit years my fuel flap is misbehaving - Lexus have sanctioned a free fix, but I just wondered what this entails exactly?

Its a big job, there will probably need your car for the best part of a day to fix it unless the repair job is different than mine was, it involved removing the back seat and panelling in the boot.

mine still sometimes sticks, i always clean the inside of my filler cap when cleaning the car and now have got into a routine of spraying some WD40 silicone spray and wiggling it back words and forwards a few time, since doing this i haven't had any problems,

Are you having the car serviced at a Lexus dealership, if so the car is under warranty for 100K miles or 10 years

Ask them to look at there re call list, its quite a common on the LC, quote the Lexus Forum, most of the time the dealerships have no clue of re calls

The US have a recall for this which is what i tell my dealership, but then the US get a lot more re calls than Europe get, we only seem to get the ones that involve life and death

Its not a easy or cheep job to replace it, it took them the best part of the day to do mine

Every now and then open the flap and wiggle it back and forth a few times, i normally do it when i clean the car, also a square of WD40 should help

I'm a bit confused now, as I have been told the car I was going to look at is Mesa Red, not Sonic Red. I thought this car looked more burgundy in the photo's but was attributing that to the poor lighting. There is at least one other car advertised as being Mesa Red, while most others state Sonic Red, or just Red or even infra-red.

If indeed the above is correct and there is both Sonic & Mesa Reds, then I think I prefer the Sonic as it seems more vibrant.

As far as i am aware they only do one red on the LC , this Sonic Red with the paint code 3T5

As you can see same car  in different light

So I've done a little more digging. Firstly I contacted the Lexus dealer I've used previously. Sales dept. didn't know what I was referring to initially but then mentioned they were aware of one RX succumbing to thieves. They couldn't provide an answer but thought the LC wasn't vulnerable. They asked the service department to get in touch, I've received a voicemail today that I'll follow up tomorrow.

I've also had a thought about the one publicised theft of an LC. We thought this was a CANBUS theft because of the recovery pictures where the front bumper was damaged:

Did we definitively find out it was CANBUS and not relay? Not sure if the LC fobs are UWB or not.

In the photos, the LC is stacked nose first in a container at a ~45 degree angle. Perhaps that is why the front bumper is dislodged and not to get access to probe the port? In the photos, the top half of the bumper is heavily warped, it seems odd that the thieves could do that in four minutes, particularly when the bottom part of the bumper is bolted in place to an under tray... This is several thick plastic components, it's not just peeling back a few clips on a wheel arch liner.

I've watched a video on front bumper removal on the LC and I can't see the same port which has been seen here (bus of contacts with two larger sockets in one connector):

I'm no electrical engineer mind, they could just be different connectors. I don't know which have CANBUS access and which don't. It seems like the only accessible wire is for the parking sensors/indicators.

The LC is vulnerable and can be stolen by CANBUS, there is a port behind the bumper on the near side

  15. The LC can be stolen the same way as any other Lexus models  by the CANBUS , I would fit a Ghost or similar and a visual deterrent, steering lock or driveway post.

other than that just enjoy the car, mine will probably be up for sale in April 2025. so start saving. lol

This isn't really for me as I don't think I can live with the red interior, and still want a newer car, but i'm trying to improve my knowledge of what i'm looking at so I can buy the right car when it comes up.

Sonic Titanium seems a very rare colour, but looks really good on this.

I'm a bit confused as it says this is a Sports Plus but I thought they all had the spoiler and 21 inch wheels. The ad states this has the 21 inch wheels, but aren't they the 20 inch ones?

One other question is with the carbon roof, are they always 'carbon black' in colour or on some cars are they painted to match the rest of the car?

    https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401035215411?sort=most-recent&advertising-location=at_cars&make=Lexus&model=LC 500&postcode=de564ea&fromsra

I personally think this add is misleading, the Sport plus has 21" wheels, rear spoiler, rear wheels steer , and i believe the seats are only half leather with Alcantara.
