  1. Should be able to get a 2JZ-GTE in there without a problem :)
  2. I don't believe the AWD series I was sold in the US, wasn't it JDM only?
  3. They did do a 4.0 N/A but did they ever release a 4.3 N/A version?
  4. There are quite a few manual references on mkiv.com http://www.mkiv.com/manual/index.html
  5. For the MOT the boot shouldn't need to be opened. As LEX200sport has said the MOT does not check the condition of the spare wheel - or if you have one. In fact my local dealer changed a wheel over for my wife when she had an MOT because one of the 4 tyres wasn't too great, swapped it over with the spare so it passed :)
  6. AC, unless you have a RX400h or Prius, running from the engine not the battery. The fans don't use that much power, if your battery went flat with two minutes of the fans running then you need a new battery.
  7. It's available on the LS, GS and will be on the new IS. It's not available on the RX. The laser version is available on US RX300s but that system was never available in the UK (it's been an option on US vehicles for a few years now). Maybe the new radar system will be available when they face lift the RX next year?
  8. not for your vehicle but this will give you some idea of where the grease should be applied. http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldata/AFI~G~C2...063452/82905304 It can also help to bend the clips/shims so they are a tight fit.
  9. There's nothing wrong with using the gears for engine braking although with normal driving there's no point, just use the brakes. I tend to downshift when I want to overtake so when I press the throttle I just go rather than waiting for the lazy gearbox to downshift automatically.
  10. the later 2JZ-GE's are variable valve timed as well my version isn't but there is a few pulleys for vvti versions around so i assume the vvti works woithin 2 set parameters so your starting point could still be adjusted. think its advancing the timing to get the bang to happen just before full compression so by the time the whole thing catches up its working quicker at low revs not 100% sure which is why i thought i would post . and the Venom cams gears are even prettier they look like ninja throwing stars :D ← vvt-i doesn't work with two set parameters. The first v in the name standards for variable - the timing overlap is constantly varied based on rpm, load, throttle etc.
  11. The RX400h has only just come out and I believe the RX300 will get a face lift next year (6 speed auto). New model will probably be 2007-2008 but may be depend on sales.
  12. UK manuals would be around £200. Best person to ask would be Chris S who would be able to get a quote for you.
  13. No your not, they love you. If you don't claim they stand to make a large amount of £££ from you.
  14. Mitchells is good for wiring diagrams, the rest isn't so great but it's better than nothing. One thing to remember though is if you want to be legal you would still need to purchase a license for the software rather than just purchase a backup of the CDs from ebay.
  15. Hi, welcome to LOC I would suggest you post your question on the US forums as the LX isn't sold here in the UK. There's a link at the top of the page under the pull down --LOC Network-- menu.
  16. The best ones are the genuine Lexus ones - expensive though. alldatadiy is a good online source although it will be for a US vehicle (as will all the ebay ones) which for 95% of things doesn't matter.
  17. My mods are not covered with Bell/Elephant. You are just paying for the car to be legally covered. I think you can request standard parts aren't used but they will only pay those costs so if your modded parts cost more you will have to pay the difference. They say they charge extra because either the cosmetic mods will attract attention or if you are doing performance mods then the chances are you will use that extra performance where you shouldn't and are therefore more likely to put in a claim.
  18. I must admit there are quite a few programs that I need to use a PC, so I have Virtual PC running all the time. Hopefully that number will become less and less. I mainly use my computer for Internet, photo, video, itunes and email so the Mac works very well for that. I also have my vehicle workshop manual which is in loads of pdf files. Typing in a word to search for and having spotlight return the results within 1 or 2 seconds is amazing, a PC would take minutes to do the same thing. I do still have my work notebook so I still have access to a PC if needed.
  19. this person didn't think the mouse was too good http://www.thinkmac.co.uk/blog/2005/08/mig...-so-mighty.html and I must admit if you have to lift your fingers off the left side of the mouse so you can right click, the mouse is a complete waste of time.
  20. Looks like Apple has sold out - the apple store is now showing 7 days to ship rather than the normal 24 hours.
  21. The 14.7:1 ratio is the best mixture for the cats to work, however you need to be in closed loop mode for that to work. At other times the ECU is using it's pre programmed mappings to do the fuel mixture. If you make the air intake a little less restrictive then you lean out the mixture slightly which is one of the reasons you see an increase in mpg. This isn't too much of a problem with Toyota engines as the are normally set up to run a little rich anyway. However when you start altering the intake and exhaust it is a good idea to get the car on a rolling road to see how the fueling is. There could be a point in the rev range where the engine is actually a bit lean which is not a good thing.
  22. Aido, I too like Camino but since upgrading to 10.4.2 my Safari seems to be much better so I've been using that most of the time. Where did you get your mouse from, the Apple store?
