  1. Looks much better mate. I did the same in my old lexus. I also removed the orange indicator strips and used led indicator bulbs. Gives the lexus a more modern look
  2. Hi everyone. Just was curious to know if this is a good item or not. Its a chip which connects to the OBD connection on the car, Its a piggyback chip. Is it any good and would it work in my car and would it improve fuel economy? Seems too good to be true http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Performance-Economy-ECU-remap-chip-LEXUS-IS200-250-IS300-350-/170695150830?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27be394cee Thanks in advance for any replys.
  3. Well I've had no probs with my strut bar. I can feel a difference in the cornering and the steering is lighter. My strut bar was delivered with the towers on the wrong sides. Took bar apart and swooped the towers over. Perfect fit and is prob 1-2 inches off the air box. no modification needed. For the money you can't go wrong!!!!
  4. Well if the exhaust pipes are standard they should be 2.25 inches diameter. you can buy stainless steel pipe by the metre in most metal yards and maybe pop into some where like quik fit or humphreys. if they havent got any then im sure they can reccomend somewhere local to you.
  5. They look good. I've got them in my is200. But I have left the 2 outer rings so they don't work and am only using the 2 inner angel eyes. So it looks a little differrrent like one of yr pics. Looks more aggressive too. But angel eyes look good on a lex. But i Don't think I will be putting daylight running lights on my car
  6. Pretty light weight. Main strut is polished aluminium. The two suspension towers are steel and come painted black. Car handles much better though
  7. Just look on eBay for an inverter. I had to replace one on my car. Was about £7 plus postage. Most of the angel eyes kits are the same with same connections and inverters. LOok at the sellers selling the angel eyes kit and then look at there other items. Most of them sell spare inverters. Hope this helps
  8. I got the same one yr looking at. And I'm pleased with it. Car handles much better
  9. if you need any more help/tips on fitting feel free to send a pm. One more thing the one i used came covered in fabric,re did it in leather from a volvo armrest...basically the same color leather as is200 half leather seats. Hi Cou;d you send me a guide on how to install the fiat stilo armrest into an is200 sport. Got an arm rest on order but not to sure how to install it. Thanks
  10. Hers a couple of pics of my car with one on it. I brought the car with it on and never knew it was a cupra spoiler. But i think it makes the standard bumper look a little better.
  11. I had my wheels painted by a friend who works as a painter in a large car company. They only cost £140 to have done. They are not the standard wheel silver either. Its Jet black metalic and i think its arctic silver?? metalic. Look awesome when they are clean and in the sun. Really brings the standard alloys come to life
  12. Thanks for sorting my pic out. My headlights were very hazey and dirty looking. I used super resin polish ( Autoglym if i remember correctly)and they now look like new. Also used the polish on my rear fog lights and rear lights. They look like new again. £5.99 a bottle from halfords and 5 mins elbow grease and amazing transformation for a fraction of the price of new lenses or lights
  13. When i did mine i detangoed the front lights and replaced with LEDs also changed the bulbs to HID and installed Angel eyes. As my car is silver i didnt paint the interior of the lights. I took this pic recently and as i went to take the photo a bloody pidgeon shat on the front of the car. http://i1138.photobucket.com/albums/n540/thalystgv/IMG_2613.jpg
  14. I changed all my indicators to LED. Defo recommend load resistors. The relay option is a pain as you have to disconnect all the leads in the fuse box on the drivers side. Then unscrew the fuse box to get into where the relay sits. I just used scotch locks and load resistors. much quicker and easier. Managed to get my rear LED bulbs (Offset pins) and load resistors from Halfords. Said £19.99 on shelf and when it was put through the till it came up as £3. Absolute Bargain!!!:)
  15. Hi Jason. Count me in. My details are posted lower down on this thread. Awesome dials and can't wait to get them!! : )
  16. Wheels. I havent changed mine. They are the standard 5 spoke 17 inch ones. I had them painted and i like them. Im always getting good comments from people about them. They are metalic jet black and metalic Arctic Silver. Cost me £140 for them to be refurbed and painted. They really set my car off i think http://s1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa348/thalystgv2011/?action=view&current=IMG_141611.jpg
  17. Hi. I changed my sound system in my Lex a few months ago. Double din means its a stereo head unit twice the size of a normal aftermarket stereo. Ive just put a single din stereo in mine. Its a pioneer with bluetooth and full ipod control. Got it second hand on ebay for £120. Its an awesome head unit. I have also installed a 12 inch sub in the boot and 2 amps. one of them is a 4 channel and i replaced the rear speakers with 6X9 speakers using adaptor plates and kept the standard front speakers. To install an after market head unit you will need a stereo bypass lead. The lead varies depending on what model of is200 you have. This loom adaptor converts the Lexus loom to standard iso. then you can connect any aftermarket head unit to the car.If you do not want to add an amp then the loom will allow you to use the standard speakers in the car with the new stereo. you will also need the fascia plate adaptor. see link below http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEXUS-200-300-CD-STEREO-RADIO-FASCIA-FACIA-KIT-IS200-/250666907542?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_FasciaPlates_SM&hash=item3a5ce97796 Whatever aftermarket head unit you use you will notice that the sound quality compared to the Lexus head unit is much better. Look on ebay for yr iso loom adaptor. My conversion took a while as i had to run a power lead to the boot to power my two amps. But if yr just going to replace the head unit then its not a hard job. Any more questions about this conversion then dont hesitate to ask Jason
  18. Thanks for the reply but I'm time critical to get this fixed. Is there another load resistor I could buy that will do the job?? That I can order from here in the UK
  19. Hi. Just a quick question. I've upgraded all my indicator bulbs to LED. I've brought a pair of 50w 6 ohm load resistors. I've installed them in the from of the car. The resistor is on the positive indicator wire and the negative wire. They do heat up but the indicators flash like they are having a fit. Does it matter if the resistors are placed at the front or the rear of the car and is the resistor the right rate for the lights?? Am very confused as the lights flash just as fast as they did without the load resistor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
  20. Hi i know this topic has been covered but im still confused. Not too much detail on exactly how to do this. Prehaps someone can write a complete guide so an idiot like me can understand it easily. I have ordered front indicator SMD replacements as i have de-tangoed my front lights. Side Indicator LEds i already have. Rear bulbs im a bit confused with, What is the uk model type. I want to use SMds also are the pins on the bottom of the bulb opposite or off set. Can anyone recommend the right bulbs I would like to use an LED flasher relay ive seen for about £8. Dont want to mess about with load resistors. So i can revert it back to standard if i need to. I have looked in the drivers footwell fuse box and cant see the relay. I can hear it when the indicators are on. What does it look like and how many pins are on it? and how easy is it to remove. Thanks in advance for any relies. Just want to add a bit of moderness to the car.
  21. your car stuuering and stalling could be a lot of things. Could be a misfiring engine. Id start by checking your spark plugs then your coils. I had same problem and it would also do it when the engine was warm. say if i went out to shop, parked outside then drove it back home. checked plugs and one was much darker than the others. Replaced it and seemed ok. But the stuttering came back. changed coils and reset ecu. now runs perfect. try resetting ecu first. then look at plugs if keeps stuttering. hope this helps
  22. Id take it back to the garage. But i wouldnt expect them to give you back any money. Id look at what the warranty they gave you covers. I brought my first lex a few months back and it only had part history. As soon as i drove the car out from the garage and got on the motorway I had a knocking noise that got louder and louder. Turned out to be failed rear passenger shock. Told garage i brought it from and they were not helpful. For that reason I had a real mechanic look the car over for me. He suggested to Change timing belt for peace of mind as there was no info for when it was last changed. We also changed power steering belt, drive belt and aircon belt seeing as you have to take them off anyway to change timming belt. paid around £25 for the 3 belts from Euro car parts for them. Also changed power steering fluid aswell. Im not a mechanic but my friend is. So he told me what to do and i sorted the car myself. Also changed Coil packs as car ran a little rough with minor misfiring when warm if i stopped and restarted after a few minuites. After changing the coils she now runs sweet as a nut. I am Now a very proud Lexus owner. Car drives lovely.
  23. Hi just re tensioned mine last night due to slipping steering belt. its easy undo the 14mm bolt a bit use a crow bar or any bar than can give you leaverage. Move the pump a mm or two over to the left and just check belt tension. dont tension it too much or you will over stretch the belt. moved mine 2mm and that was just right. I found it easier to draw a line so i could see how much i had moved the pump by. Im not very good with mechanical things but i found this easy and took 2 mins tops to do. Hope this helps
