  4. I just switched from Direct Line to More than and saved about £150. I saved with them on my wifes MR2 as well. I would recomend trying them for a quote.
  5. Another vote for Mauritius here - thats were we went. Koh Samui is the dogs danglys if you go at the right time of year, a lovely little island of the coast of Thai Land about 1 hours flight from Bankok.

Thanks Colin I realise that there is the recalibrate option but have never used it - I was wondering if it just assumed a new tyre diameter based on four new tyres. Does it actualy recalibrate by asking you to drive a certain distance then ?

    Tyres

I recently had my car 4 wheel allingment set because of excesive wear on the inside of the two front tyres. The fronts are now illegal on the inside but the rears are fine. The question I have is should I just replace the two front ones or should I replace all 4 and keep the rears as spares tyres incase of a puncture ? Blackcircles are qouting 103.65 each fitted for Goodyear EAGLE F1 GSD3 215/45 R17 Z so we are talking either 200 or 400 quid so there is a serious cost difference. The other worry that I have is that my SE has Sat Nav and I do not know if just changing the two front tyres will effect its accuracy ?
  8. I had new tyres fitted when I bought my Lex (it had done 12k at that point) and 7,500 miles later the insides had excessive wear to the extenst that they were illegal. Lexus Bromley did the 4 wheel alingnment for me this week for free, so I would push you local dealer for the same.
  9. Raz How did you get this sorted under warrenty, and what exactly did they do ? After putting about 7-8k miles on the new tyres that were fitted new when I bought my 52 reg IS2000 the 20k service came up with excesive wear on the inside of the front tyres. Lexus Bromley suggested 4 wheel alinement (sp?) at a cost of about 90 squids. I have not done this yet but it is booked in for a few weeks time (their machine has broken down twice) Very interested in any info you might have mate.
  10. I am going Skiing in Bulgaria at the end of the month. Anyone been here before and could advise what currency you spend 'in resort' ? I am being told "Take Sterling" by some sources and that you can spend 'Levs' by another. If anyone has any first hand experiance I would really appreciate it.
  11. 2 Possible group buys..... 1. Club Jet Link 1 2. Club Meet House Link 2
  12. After reading the fuel test that I think Fidgits did, I changed to Shell Optimax. It took about 4 tankfulls to see a change but I went from getting about 280-300 miles/tank to 360-380 miles per tank. This is on a regular journey to work, 45 miles of which about 30 are on the M25. I never reset my ECU
  13. I hear what you are saying, and unfortunately I believe that you will are probably correct. What I am saying is that based on what they told me I was given this money and I have spent it. I would not of spent this money if the accountants had not advised me that I was due it so although I am not out of pocket I will have to find this money that I do not have now ~ if you see what I mean.
  14. Do not know if anyone has any ideas on this. For the last couple of years I have used a firm of accountants to help compile my tax return due to some complications I had with the inland revenue. Whilst compiling my 02/03 tax return last year the accountants voluntered the information that they believed I was due a tax rebate to the tune of £8000, this was money I was not aware I was due. The accountants then compiled and submitted my tax return. I received a cheque after a while from the Inland Revenue for the £8000 End of December I received a letter from the revenue that they had reinvestigated my case and had decided that I was not actualy due the £8000 and could they please have a cheque for this amount back please. I had a chat with the accountant who has come back to me and said that there was a mistake and yes I am liable for this money and need to pay it back. My question here is does anyone here know if it worth me going to a solisitor to see if I have any claim against the accountants for proffesional negligence or the like ? I do not want to waste a further £100 odd quid talking to a solisitor if all they are going to say is I do not have a chance. I know I am liable to the Inland Revenue, there is no getting out of that, but I do not know if it is worth me trying to get the money from the accountants as they gave me bad information. Any ideas or acctual knowledge on this subject will be very gratefuly received.
  15. How much do they normaly cost Chris ?
  16. How long, ish, should it take the rear screen to demist after hitting the button ? Not on a frosty day, just one of those cold mornings when there is a lot of dew/condensation on the outside of the back window ? Mine seems to take anywhere for 20-30 mins ! You hit the button and the smallest of small amount demists following the lines the heating wires take, and then the rest takes an age. I have had to hit the button again for a second time quite a few times (after it had automaticaly gone off). Is this right ? I have my 20,000 mile service next week and I am going to mention this. (As well as a small paint blister I noticed when cleaning the front of the bonnet)
