  1. I've read an old post about Auto Mirror Closure, very interesting. But what about an Auto Windows Closure ? Anybody has worked over a similar project ? bye
  2. I've told you about my new IS200. Ok, today I've done the first 2500km, quite enought for the first month. For the first time I've tried to take off TRC. When I was stopped at a crosslight I've pushed the button and the TRC OFF light went on. Then the light went green and I start, first, CLUNK, second, CLUNK, third, CLUNK, fourth ... another RED light, I stop, turn the TRC OFF. Restart and everithing went back to normality, first, second etc ... I've retried some times and the effect is the same, when I turn the TRC off the gearbox start to have a strange CLUNK noise, and gone when I turn TRC on again. Do you know why ? What's happen on your car ? Btw, it's better to turn TRC on/off when the car is moving or when the car is stopped ? ps. the car is great !!! But why that undersized/powered engine ????
  3. Ok, yesterday I've done my first 1000 km (the first week ...) I've loaded of fuel my IS200 twice (140 lt for about 1000km ... ok ...) and used it between 2000 and 4000 rpm all the time, mainly in urban situation (with lot of stop/go). Nothing to declare, the car is really GREAT, two hole: the leather outside the gearbox stick is sometimes "noisy", and so are the Dunlop tires. I was expecting more silence inside. I can't wait another 1000 km to push up and try the engine above 4000 rpm ... but I'm following the manual :-) The paint is very soft, a brush can leave a sign in your side very quickly, the alloy are becaming black with all that brakes dust, ok ok ... I'll wash it.
  4. Ok, in these 3 days I've done 320km, and the fuel indicator is below the half !!! My ***, this machine drink a lot ... :-) What are your experience with fuel consumption ?
  5. Yes, today I've retired my new IS200, granite sky, 17" alloys and so on. Nice, very new engine, only 3km, I've drove it for 20km under the rain. My first impression is that the engine is really "tight", I hope this is because it's really new, the test car I've drove a month ago was better. I expect that after some hundreds of km it will become more "loosen". Very nice brake, I was worried about the brake of a new car, but I was wrong. Lots of "hole" in the internals, you can put your beer wherever you want ... :-) Nice the leather seats, I was worried about it but seems nice to see and to "use". I hope that they will be nice to clean too. Very bad back visual, through the central mirror you cannot see the car that are surpassing you quickly, side mirrors are ok, nice the function to close it. This is an uncommon car in italy, i've asked to remove the "lexus" and "is200" labels from the back, now it's interesting to see people that look at the car asking "what the hell ...." :-) bye
  6. Somebody has the color codes table ? For example, what color is "1C3" ? Is the paint treatment the same for all colors or there are colors that are more resistant to stones and scratches ?
  7. "IS200 new" street price is about 22000/22500 euro (29000 official price). Then you should subtract the value for my used car that dealer take back (an old Ford with more than 220000km, valued 2500 euro !!!!), this is the right period to buy cars in Italy, you can choose the price :-) But (I think) we don't have the same choice there is outside Italy, for example I would like a black car, it's impossible since in Italy Lexus sell only few colors.
  8. Thanks to everybody. I've bought a so called "IS200 new", in Italy we don't have much choice for the colors, only 4 tints : dark gray, silver, blue, green. I don't know if it's a policy of Lexus Italy but we have only 3 model: IS200 Silver, IS200 new (with 17" and leather seats, I've bought this one), IS200 plus (with nav). Here this is a very rare car, is uncommon to see one on the streets, that's why is nice. Too many BMW, Mercedes Audi ... I need something different and really better IMHO (yes, 320Ci is something better, but 13000 euro more MAKE the difference :-) Back to the new engine, I travel a lot (in some periods more than 5000 km/week), with long travel (800 or more km at time without pause) this is why I don't know if the new engine can suffer in its early km from this kind of usage.
  9. Yes, I've done. I've bought it ... it'll arrive at the end of the month and I can't wait ... How many km do you think is necessary to do to loosen the new engine ? The first km are better to do with long travel or short one ? bye
