  1. Yeah I had the Dunlop Sp Sport 270 before the Michelin Latitudes. They got noisier as they got older but no inner wear on my 450h. I doubt its tyres, unless they got a flat spot somewhere? Id say - get a full alignment check done using the Hunter machine. If you get a vibration and washing machine noise when turning, its a bearing.
  2. I have 11 years of experience with Lexus Bradford and 3 years with Lexus Stockport. Both are very good. I did go to Lexus Manchester as well, they are equally brilliant but they weren't as competitive as Stockport or Bradford on pricing but of course that depends on the car. I would highly recommend the RRG group. Jason and Gino are awesome at Stockport. Bradford have just got new sales people and they are very good, young and inexperienced but they are more human than other dealers I've come across. They're prices are quite competitive and sometimes the cheapest on the Lexus website but they also give good discounts and a fair value for a P/X. In all hi nest, I was expecting RRG group service from Edgeware Road which is part of Jemca, whom I have only had dealings with Lexus Sidcup who were good. I guess I expected too much as Edgeware road has tactics akin to Arnold Clark!! I guess what really did it for me was the salesman's cheek in even saying £2550 for P/X. I know I'm going to lose money by P/X and that doesn't bother me too much but when my local dealer says £3300, then it's just trying to rip you off. It's not a "fair" price at all considering I could easily sell privately for £4.2k and they'd probably make £5k off it
  3. It depends on the dealer. Edgeware road were pretty shoddy when I went. My dealer on the other hand looks after me very well
  4. Silver roof rails and front and rear silver bumper attachments. Its a factory option but was available free of charge at one point.
  5. So, basically liked a car on their website. Reasonably priced and exactly the spec I wanted so thought id send an email. All good, got an email from them 5 minutes later and we both agreed the car was up to scratch. Now, I have a car to P/X. Bear in mind the car I want to P/X got a £3800 valuation on Webuyanycar.com and after putting the stone chips and scuffed wheels on (no other damage) this went down to £3500 which I thought was reasonable. I showed Lexus Edgeware Road. £2550!!! WTF? They were like "oh its a fair price, if you show your car to webuyanycar.com theyll give you the same, any Lexus dealer wont give you more than £2550". Well, thats great I thought, I'll show it to my local Lexus dealer tomorrow - they're offering £3300 with all the damage, its just a shame they don't have that particular colour combo in stock. Anyways - I realise that they may make some money off the P/X and give me a better deal on the car itself - how wrong was I? They said "oh we dont have £1000's in our cars, they're priced well anyway". Having a copy of the CAP book, the trade value was £4k lower than what they put it at and that's fine - they can have some profit, no problems there but they were completely ignorant to any haggling, wanting the full asking price and not playing ball. Besides, its not like I was asking for £1000's off anyway, only a £1000 which is reasonable. They refused to change my number plate over to the car and wouldn't deliver to my house either! Then, you have the salesmen. Dont know where they come from but they use awkward tactics eg. "this car wont be here long at this price", "no dealer will give you more than £500 off a used car", "ill find a cheaper car without leather or navigation then at that price", "you wont get more than this for your car at any dealer" etc etc. Im a Doc , I know what you're trying to do with these psychological tactics and yeah, you can have a crack at it but don't use all the tricks in the book in less than 10 minutes - it just makes me angry! ****** me off to a point where I thought screw it. They can get all of their Lexus and stick them where the sun dont shine.
  6. Id prefer an IS350 though! Appears that the RC200t is coming to the UK along with the RC300h. There'll be too much of a gap between the RC200t and the RC-F though. Lexus needs something in the UK which bridges the gap a little bit.
  7. In the end, Watchdog always seems to work lol. Lexus surely won't like that!
  8. The Sale of Goods Act states the car must be “of a satisfactory quality”, “fit for purpose” and “as described”. The "as described" bit doesn't apply to private sales but this is from a main dealer so in this case it applies fully. From what you have said, the car is not "as described". If it had a headrest missing, it should state that the rear headrest is missing. In which case, you can reject the car up to 6 months after it has been bought, but ONLY if the dealer is not playing ball. Ideally they should supply a headrest and thats the end of that. You can also exchange the car up to 30 days after buying, they cant say anything.
  9. I might pop in closer to RD release but I'm more interested in the Macan than the Cayenne, prefer how it looks
  10. Same with mine lol - I sent 3 off together. 2 have arrived, the other one will probably come today
  11. 41.8mpg sounds reasonable. Im going to a wedding in Birmingham from Dewsbury and back with 3 adults and 2 children in the car so will post my RX450h MPG for comparison. However, I do feel you've somewhat contradicted yourself. You mention you'd move to a Cayenne Hybrid yet, Porsche don't give good deals - they work on a "the price is what you pay" basis and you'd be lucky to get a grand off. From a pure value perspective the Cayenne is far more expensive. eg, you dont even get real leather on a £62k car, instead getting a vinyl substitute akin to Mercedes Artico! Real leather is £2090 extra. LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, Bose, auto dimming mirrors, aluminium roof rails, panoramic roof, privacy glass, front seat ventilation, heated front and rear seats, rear side airbags, keyless go and decent looking wheels are all expensive add ons! Yes the RX450h Premier will cost £71k, the Cayenne hybrid to a similiar spec will be up to £81k!
  12. I said to Lexus Stockport I would drive their RC-F demo around to get more sales. Can't print their answer :) PM me lol
  13. Lexus Woodford Demo's mate - both of them lol - they drive them around in hope of getting more sales :P
  14. Brakes are on 30% I think so not overly worn. Can't hear it when the windows are up either but ill take it to the dealer and see what it is. I'm out if warranty too :/
  15. Is that a problem or normal? In all honesty I've only noticed it after the 30k service recently but could have been before then. I'll keep a look out and try banging the calipers to see if they're loose.
  16. The clunk noise doesnt happen when going over speed bumps. I only get a squeek from the rear suspension which I presume is normal as its happened all the time. It happens under 10mph without exception. Never at higher speeds. The clunk seems to be coming from the front/middle area rather than the rear
  17. Recently, Ive just been hearing a metallic *clank* when braking to a standstill or accelerating from a standstill. Ive not noticed the noise before, this is the first time its happened and it seems to have a mind of its own. There is no consistency in the noise whatsoever apart from the fact it only happens when braking to a standstill or when accelerating from a standstill (but not all the time). Also, I can't hear the noise in the car when the windows are closed. It can only be heard with the windows down. Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks
  18. Not used for servicing but the salesmen are very good. Very accommodating and helpful. May be worth testing them out?
  19. Yep and the Hybrid snow mode definitely works in winter. The whole car seems heavier and smoothes acceleration out quite well to avoid any slip.
  20. Get finance from elsewhere and then buy the car? Although from a person who buys every car outright - id say - if you need finance, its definitely not in budget (when talking cars of course) The car industry would collapse if no one used finance. According to this article, last year over 75% of new cars were purchased on finance: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-30706580 You're lucky if you can, but very few people have £20k - £50k or whatever it may be sat in their bank just to drop on a car, but many can comfortably afford the monthly payments. Its called saving up lol, doesnt just happen overnight haha. Probably worth googling some companies online that offer PCP plans for the GS.

  22. Yep its the sound deadening material under the arches. Oddly enough, there's some in pieces underneath the car as well. It was a pain to clean and I could never get it completely spotless. However, plastic appears to be worse now that I have this method at disposal - I find the plastics really hard to dress and you have to make sure the product is right, otherwise leaves stick to it lol
  23. Yup! It was filthy - im going to blame the weather and not my laziness lol. The carpet shampoo is well worth a try! works very well. Id say the arches are the worst when it comes to dirt, everything just sticks to the felt!
  24. Full detail today. Started raining so didn't do tyres or interior Full wash with carchem shampoo. Tardis and carchem revolt. Arches with 1001 carpet shampoo. Full clay then a blast with AS Tango as a drying aid. Paint wasnt too bad so used das6 with AG SRP. Coat of Soft99 Fusso on top. Plastics dressed with Valetpro Protectant. Planning on doing the tyres tomorrow and the interior too
