  1. In Estonia we also have to have Winter tires not only because the law requires it but also because of the actual weather conditions.I've got 4 2m high snow hills in my yard and still have plenty to shovel from the driveway. All the snow that melts in the day freezes into ice in the night and there's ice everywhere. Thank you very much for your responses!
  2. What if I wanted to buy some fancy Alloy wheels and keep the OEM ones for the winter? I'm totally hopeless when it comes to wheels and tires. So, 16" is minimum due to the brakes, wheel width can be anything reasonable you can get tires on, ET has to be 39-45 and CB always has to be 60,1?
  3. I've got two sets of tires and one set of OEM wheels.I'd like to buy a second set of wheels, so I wouldn't have to go to the shop twice the year to replace the summer tires for the winter tires (and ofcourse, have pretty rims that match my taste, though I love the OEM ones). Could you please give me the details which I need to check before buying a wheel? Example: Size 17"x7 Holes 5x112 ET 38 CB 67,2 Thanks! PS:I have a feeling that all of that is actually marked on the OEM rims, but I won't be seeing the car for a week to check.
  4. Happy birthday! I myself wouldn't dare to cut that cake.Magnificent.
  5. As others have recommended earlier:Proper winter tires, Snow mode ON, Traction control ON and large sand bags in the trunk if you don't need the boot.
  6. Buy a set with the chip and the case together on eBay if you are happy with the regular style(should be cheaper if you get them in a set) or get them separately if you want the folding style key case(folding cases are rarely in a set with transponders/chips).
  7. I doubt that Lexus chips are copied, so they all should be made by Lexus. There isn't really much money in copying them because keys are not lost that often.Even though key cases are cheaper, they also tend to brake a lot more often due to being used more frequently (and carelessly). They also protect the chip, so when the case snaps, you still got the chip. This exact thing happened to me - I bought a car with a broken secondary key case.Instead of getting a regular case I got one with a flip blade which looks exactly like the one in the first post.
  8. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.m748&item=280347937346&viewitem=&_trkparms=clkid%3D5024616803442216091 There's plenty of remote cases out there on eBay with similar pricing. If you only have one key, then it better be the main key, which can be used to program other keys to match your car.If you don't have a spare, then you should get an immobiliser and a remote case on eBay (quite possibly cheaper when bought together or you can buy them separately if you want the folding key case).Instructions how to program secondary keys and how to identify the main key(the "Security" light should immideately stop blinking in the dash if you slide the main key in) are in previous posts (not this topic).
  9. Thank you very much!I'll look into it. How to wire the motorised housing?
  10. I just got mine. The plastic side cutting feels a bit unrefined but the rest is quite okay.It feels like it's sturdy enough for me.It needed some working before it switched open nicely like a proper switch-blade knife.Everyone should note that the cheap blank keys are made from steel, not brass. I went through a bunch of cutters: 1.Stopped cutting keys 2.Doesn't cut steel keys, just brass ones. 3.Closed, checked back later, still closed. The timetable on the door said it's open, there was no note. 4.Doesn't cut Lexus keys (yet). 5.Homepage says they close at 7 pm, note on the door says they close at 6 pm (was there at 6.30, damn). Better luck next time.
  11. Since I like shiny OEM stuff and so do others (as I've read here), I looked up a IS200 with Navigation installed.I have a 2004 LHD IS200 and I found a RHD 1999 IS200 at a local junkyard.I thought I could install navigation as a gadget (pops up when you start the car and what not), so I came to ask you guys. How easy is it to replace the original dash center with the one with navigation and would it just plug in?Would I have to sacrifice my newer stereo for the older one (navi cd's/dvd's)? I bet Estonia is blank on the Lexus navi discs even if I could even get my hands on such a relic, so first it would just be a gadget but it sure would be nice if it could display anything more than a blank screen.Putting in a TomTom would be a future project.
  12. I'd assume that you'd be pleased with the fuel consumption of the IS220D.
  13. Mine should arrive this or the next week.I'm pleased to hear that it's a quality product.
  14. IS200 and IS300 headlight design is different(different shape). IS300 lights are HID from factory.
