  1. yeah that's neat. blends in with the road well lol superb contrast of colour.
  2. yep, tints were mainly used by the old mafia dons, using limo black tints on every piece of window there is! there inside view was perfect clear like there is no tint paper attached. old classic cars not sure from what age, are still allowed tints of which ever shade.. as for us lot we are only allowed from the centre pillar backwards of any shade. have done window tinting 2 years at a company and use to also get people who wanted front screens but they never tinted the sides. I see a lot of people today with tinted front screens, its a different ball game altogether and think looks fantastic!
  3. you undo the nut then tighten up the bolt to tension the belt more. the more you tight it the more it will tighten up. then at the end tighten the nut back up. the only prob is there is very little room to get there so be patient. if you could access from under the car its easier. a bit of wd40 or similar lubricant helps on the adjuster bolt. all the best -
  4. you don't need to tint the screen as mentioned they come with a slight tint standard. if so your asking to go head on with some vehicle! its enough doing the side windows at front. and guaranteed 3 points fixed penalty if stopped by the copper with the machine. also insurance is void incase of accident. however, there is a tint film from usa where its clear on the inside and tint on the outside, wont effect drivers view. very expensive and very rare tint people use them.
  5. I am located in Birmingham . .I do a few trips to London twice a month. anywhere in England parts will do me. not the best of organisers too. will have to wait for someone or some meet that comes up next, i guess
  6. I done a test with the chalk on the tyre. the tyre seems to be wearing better correctly all even. before it was more towards the inner edge, even with 35 psi. I think lowering the car puts more strain on the inner tyres. but hey the overall drive etc is spot on with the ridiculous high pressures!
  7. I noticed a bit more throttle response and slight stronger vvt-i cut in point. not all much difference though -
  8. p/s pump failure is rare case. more common is the incorrect fluid used and loose tension on belt. as Tim mentioned he has checked the tension, which also can be the problem though. however, I would have the tension a bit more firm on the p/s than the other aux belts.
  9. well the coils are electrical and never know when they will pack up. having old used/worn plugs can put a strain on the coils more. the rubber cover seals are same as new coils from a dealer' not only that, he's engine looks neat and clean compare to some engines I have seen. all good :winky:
  10. main thing, change your gearbox oil. the 200 is very sensitive to any incorrect or low oil.
  11. car seems in decent nik' as noby said, 2JZ would be sensible and ideal project. in future you can bolt a turbo or charger kit if more horses you after. but in the end, its what you desire -
  12. did you put iridium plugs in ? the old plugs look ok apart from the three which look a bit cross threaded. coils look brand new
  13. neither! sell your 200 and get a 300 - but if you insist, a supercharger is the way forward. more reliable, responsive & superb sound. turbo will be expensive in the long run, can gain you more horses though. good luck.
  14. Westlake tyres are ok and last very long. hankook would be a better budget tyre. BUT on an is300 I would not use either of them china brands. personal preference and driving styles come in to play. and George, up your tyre pressure up a little and get the tracking checked.
  15. its white smoke on a blue car lol my advise = change the pcv valve
  16. do you have an aftermarket cd unit ? I came across one where the dash circuit board had a burn mark slit which caused the lights to stop working. this was due to some faulty wiring plug connected to the radio unit.. if not then its either a fuse or bulb behind dash..
  17. no water in header tank ( expansion reservoir ) means you either have some sort of air lock or a leak from the cooling system. that you will have to check out my friend -
  18. 1st - if you need to top up fluid again then you have a leak, get it then checked out by local garage. 2nd - no leaks then get the fluid changed then take it from there. worst case - p/s pump is sticking, change it.
  19. hmm wouldn't mind a meet as I only been to one ages ago.
  20. you done well with the rims. the brake caliper just tops it off. great stuff -
  21. that's a good blend there. it goes well with granite sky colour. that comfort cosy feeling & the privacy you get from the nosy parkers all good -
  22. well gee, I have tried 40/42 psi & what a diff it made. superb drive & for some weird reason the harsh ride is not as worse as 35 psi! 32 psi was sucking my fuel & you are correct on the lag. although it was very comfy like sitting on a leather sofa at home. the car seems alive & more spirited. I know the suspension will have to work more, rather use that than put more strain on the engine & gearbox.
  23. I think you went for a good shade Noreen. tints will get a little lighter after a few days as the excess water dries up & I am sure the guy told you don't open your windows for a while
