  1. Does anyone know of any companies in the South that can carry out successful repairs to small scuffs / nicks on edges of alloy wheels? My SC 430 seems to like making friends with pavement edges!
  2. Lexus Southampton kindly advised me at my last service that my SC430 needed 4 new tyres and promptly gave me a quote for £1400.00 which they would not budge on. (Bridgestone Potenza Run Flat RE040). Looking on the web I found plenty of suppliers for the tyres only, at about £650.00 for four, including delivery. But finding a fitter in Southampton was a very different matter, despite recommendations from the tyre suppliers. Many do not have the correct equipment to fit run flats or the 18" size, some have never even heard of them, and especially don't know about the sensors. South Coast Wheels being one I would not touch either after other posts on the forum. However, there is one excellent company in Southampton that went out of his way to not only match the best price on the web I'd found for the later Bridgestone model too, but is also a four wheel alignment and sports car specialist too. He is the inventor of the four wheel alignment machine called Supertracker and took over three hours to carefully remove and refit my tyres, to include 4 wheel tracking and balancing, all for £703.00 inc. vat. The service from the owner Rob, is superb and very thoroughly recommended, whatever vehicle you have but especially for run flats as he made sure that he had every bit of correct equipment, knowledge about the car and the tyres, with superb clean facilities to boot. He is also a trained Toyota mechanic. Details for Supertracker is Tel: 023 8044 3325 and can be found at Hazel Road , Woolston, Southampton, web site www.wheelperformance.com
  3. i like the sc430 as it is, excellent, a classic car in the making, drives fantastically, why change something that is already the best on the market?
  4. We would be interested to know too..............how fast has anyone pushed the SC430 to and why the restriction at 155 mph is this just our government policy?
  5. Does anyone currently operate the Motorola V50 car phone as fitted in the SC430. I have a kit already fitted in my recently acquired car but would like to know whether it would be worth my while buying a V50. I have heard that the phone itself is not so good. I would like to know more information on the system too. Is the microphone located either side of the front courtesy lights. I read on the US site that the phone can be voice activated via the sat nav system. Does anyone know if this is true. Any advice would be welcome. Sal and Gray
