  1. Fellow members, I recently posted about the problem I was incurring with my steering on my Lexus CT200h. After hours of research I came across MRCARMAX (www.mrcarmax.co.uk) and Jay (the owner) said he could solve the problem for £150. I turned up at his garage in Harrow and explained the problem and that I needed it repaired as I was selling the car to webuyanycar.com. Jay then said he would be interested in buying the car off me!!! Within 30 mins he had given me a £1,000 deposit and then I went back to the garage today to deliver the paperwork and spare key and he then transferred me the balance of the money. Top bloke and said I would post on the forum as he seemed like a very trustworthy guy who knows the Lexus brand exceptionally well. Anyway, just thought I would post this as small firms need to get praised when needed. If my other Lexus needs any work I will certainly visit him to quote. An interesting end to the story!!! Cheers Nick
  2. Thanks Steve - much appreciated. I am going to try my luck when I go to Lexus on Wednesday to collect the bolt. All my research shows it is very simple straight forward fix and so if Lexus won't do it I am going to be speak to an independent as seems like it takes minutes to do. In the meantime is it dangerous? Thanks again
  3. Good evening all, I drove my wife's car today and as soon as I got in the car I noticed that when I turned the steering wheel whilst stationery there was a knocking noise. I have undertaken a little research on the web and evidence seems to indicate it relates to a loose bolt which takes no longer than 15 minutes to sort. I live in Elstree, North London and I would like to know if anyone can recommend a reputable garage who won't abuse my wallet and deal with the problem. I was considering speaking to Lexus Edgware Road and see what their thoughts are but no doubt they will be looking to charge me two arms and two legs even if I tell them what the problem is. Does anyone know if this is a dangerous issue or not as this is most important? I was looking to see if there were any product recalls for this issue but have been unable to uncover any as yet unless anyone can advise. Thanks again and any help would be much appreciated as otherwise the kids and wife will be having a very light Zmas present wise. Nick
  4. Good morning everyone, I have a Lexus GS300 2005 plate which has only covered 31,000 miles! I am not the most technically advanced person and a while back my tyre pressure monitor light came on and after speaking to Lexus who quoted me circa £300 to resolve the problem I decided not to make the repair. However, I am looking to sell the car very soon and also my MOT is up for renewal at the end of November so my hand is being forced. I live in Elstree, North London so can anyone recommend a garage who is a Lexus specialist or is familiar with the above problems that I can speak with. I have seen there are posts about changing the batteries but genuinely I have no clue. Would really appreciate any feedback and my number is 07855 833349. Thanks in advance. Nick
  5. Hi Guys, I am new to the club and really would appreciate some help. I have a Lexus RX350 and have recently had a prang where the light just below my passenger headlight got damaged - Lexus would like £110 for the replacement plastic - what a rip off!! Lexus also reckon it would take an hour to fit - this seems excessive. Does anyone know of somewhere that I could buy the piece of plastic cheaper and how long would it take to fit? Thanks Nick
  6. Hi Guys, Merry Christmas to everyone first of all. I am going to look at a 2001 IS300 tomorrow which has 59,000 miles on the clock with a FLSH. I am knew to this particular model and have read horror stories about the poor fuel consumption - being at around 20 - is this correct? I was looking at a Jaguar X type 3 litre which I discounted for several reasons included the poor mpg. I am using the car to do my daily commute to work which is 7 miles each way. I currently have a Ford Fiesta which on £40 gets me about 250 miles to a tank - what do you reckon I should expect to get from the IS300. Is there anything which I need to look for when going to see the car tomorrow and do you feel it would be wise to get a warranty with this? Cheers for your advice. Nick
