  1. EMP = Electromagnetic Pulse Malc , Steve and Bernard are meaning Nukes I guess .
  2. Stuart is probably correct Alexander , bumper support could be upside down which is why the holes dont line up ,either that or there is something not right with the bumper . Your right not to be impressed it is obviously wrong so why would they leave it like that . Excuse the safety slippers and shadow .
  3. Clear lenses looking good Duncan , where did you acquire them from if you don't mind me asking .
  4. John hi , recently had the same problem on my Mk3 , no suitable Dunlops and the Falkens which were very similar are no longer available either it seems . I went for a set of Michelin Crossclimate 102W XL , the grip and handling are excellent ,low noise level which is also good . Only time will tell how long they last but so far I am impressed with the quiet and handling of these tyres ,they are not cheap mind not much change from £600 ,which is more than I paid for the car . Hope this is some help good luck with your tyre search . Chris
  5. Certainly looks like a Mk1 David , very nice too ,if only I had room for another and the spare cash to buy it .
  6. You are not going mad mark , only the outside clusters should light up with the side lights on , the inner cluster houses the fog and reverse lights .
  7. Dennis hi , if the fluid they have sold you is cherry red and says ATF then it is ok , if it is their usual black/brown treacle type then it probably shouldn't be used . Problems may arise later down the line if the wrong fluid is used , it may not mention the correct fluid in your Mk3 handbook ,I have two handbooks both came with 1996 Mk3's one specifies the fluid and the other has no mention of it .
  8. Dennis hi , you should use Dexron 2/3 ATF for your power steering not the regular Halfords stuff .
  9. Would that be the muppet who uses a can of petrol to start his bonfire and wonders why he ends up in A+E , Malc .
  10. Colin hi , the O ring Ambermarine mentions is at the end of the slide pin furthest from the boot and fits into a groove in the pin , only one slide pin has an O ring on the rear calipers the other is just a plain pin . The slide pins have to go back into there respective tubes ,so make sure you make a note of which one go's where . Good luck
  11. Hi Hugh ,sorry to hear about your damage , Wilkinsons/Wilko could be the answer for small amounts of thinners . http://www.wilko.com/preparation/wilko-cellulose-thinners-125ml/invt/0182560 Good luck with your repair .
  12. You dont say which model you have Cleverdick . Having just checked two sunroofs the Mk2 is the same as your pic with the odd slit in the plastic on both sides ,the Mk 3 is different and doesn't have them . As far as I know mine has no leaks ,so this is probably a feature of the earlier cars .
  13. Those are pretty good MPG figures David ,what sort of speeds were you doing .
