John i think your average is pretty good at 40mpg to be honest, it all depends if your doing Town or Motorway miles. I have a 2006 IS220 and mainly do Town driving, i am only getting 29.6 at present with steady driving. Had the car 2 weeks now. One thing that was recommended to me was to reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery, this seems to have improved things slightly and i have also noticed that the cold start idle isn't staying at 1100 revs for as nearly as long.
You may want to try it if it gets worse.
Not sure if any others on here have done the same thing and seen any noticeable improvements ???

ok buddy. just thought id ask on the forum. i had read online as per the vehicle's spec etc but i often think that these supposed figures are never really realistic.
