Could anyone please tell me why I am suddenly getting two chimes or 'dings' after I switch off the engine .......what do they mean ? (there are no lights on, doors, windows etc open) Also, my centre console screen has started to play up and not come on sometimes, are these two issues related ? Really grateful for any help given and much appreciation in advance. Thanks

My LS400 exhaust flanges, like many, are rusted away behind the cats and will probably need a new centre section. But looked at the offending area under the car yesterday and saw that bolted on sturdy brackets on the exhaust just past each cat are two large, protruding, circular steel discs about 3 inches across..............................does anyone have any idea what these are or what they might do please ? As always, very grateful for any helpful replies please. Thanks

Thanks guys......that is exactly the kind of advice and help I needed and can cope (just !) with a bit of easy DIY like this. But is any special kind of black car paint needed ?

Very grateful if someone could advise please. The black paint on the metal pillars either side of my windscreen (LS400 Mk4) seems to have become chipped off in various places, any idea what I can do to repair......is it a simple DIY touch-up job and what type of paint would I need ? I guess the other option is to take the whole lot off and have two bright chrome pillars........good idea or bad idea ? Many thanks in advance for any help. Thanks

I'm hopefully going to be buying a 2001 LS430 shortly, but just wanted to ask........does the standard spec of this model already have bluetooth on it so that I can pair up my iPhone ? Grateful for all or any help on this please. Many thanks

I really would change the seats in my LS400 if I could........backache !! Don't even find them as comfortable as my GS300 previously.

You might have to buy a hardcopy off fleabay. The only other online document I could find was Canadian. Fleabay could provide the missing info, particularly colours & trim. Yep, I think you're right. Off to have a look now ! Thanks again.

Hi all Having had my LS400 for 12 years now, it's time to sell the old girl, so will be looking to buy an older (2001-2 ?) LS430 in the next few months. Can anyone please point me to a brochure archive (link please ?) or similar that I can see the original specifications, colours, trim etc of the LS430 model when it was first released ? Many thanks for all or any help you may be able to give with this.
