  1. All sorted, cheers, now I can see everything including the low brake pad warning, oh well consumables
  2. Malc Many thanks for the fast reply, I am happy soldering the caps, just stuck on the ribbon cable issue. Cheers mate Andy
  3. Hello all, just joined and already asked a question about my LS400 dash, what else?? After years of Beemers have bought a Lexus, unbelievable car even at 16 years of age. Bought it as a bit of a project, it had a snapped rear forawrd trailing arm and a duff alternator, both now replaced. With the dash sorted it will be ideal. Live in Wilthsire, UK and looking forward to hearing from anyone.
  4. Hello all, I know this subject has been flogged to death and the forum has been fabulous in helping me out with the usual issue. However my fat fingers when carrying out the repair managed to break the thicker black ribbon cable connector on th emain board. The pins themselves are intact, can the connector be replaced/repaired? Having replaced C212 on the daughter board and put it back together, I now have lights on the centre dash, heater/radio etc (Which I didnt have); but have not regained instrument illumination and have lost the needle illumination which I had before stripping. Whilst appreciaing I still have C142 and 147 on the motherboard outstanding to do is the ribbon cable which has been replaced with the remaining half of the plastic clamp to blame for the needles?
