  1. They have been on sale at the lexus birmingham ebay store for a good year now, you can pick one up for around £60.
  2. grom has been around for a while - there are many threads in the audio section.
  3. There is a common myth than supermarket fuel is somehow inferior to that of shell or bp. This is not the case, the fuel is from the same refinery and sometimes even off the same tanker. For the cost of Shell super duper I don't believe the extra cost is worth the better MPG. It's like redex, I think sometimes people convince themselves that it is much better. I have never used the expensive fuels and never had any problems with the car, I just accept that the car has poor MPG compared to it's German counterparts. As for better engine performance, I think it has been marketed very cleverly, unless you have a ferrari you aren't really going to notice that much difference if any.
  4. Yep Noreen I don't remember having a problem with the back window as I did last year
  5. Driving with the roof down at a 0c night is a merc thing, I wouldn't bother you just look silly!
  6. It looks easier than it is, I would try and get a few telephone quotes. Toyota dealers are actual reasonably priced so I would give them a shout to see if they can do it
  7. There is a topic here: http://www.clublexus...-led-strip.html The whole sewell thing won't work for us here as the headlights in the USA are not angled the same it is also extremely costly. Apparently they are plug and play, however the LED strip won't light up unless it's wired up correctly to a spare fuse. Oh, and it's apparently also easier if you do not have HID/AFS lights... This thread will also help: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/631474-diy-2012my-led-headlight-installation-how-to.html
  8. Yup, can even pick at 04 car with NAV/Leather 80k miles for about £3k now. Excellent value for money!
  9. It's something about the exclusivity that keeps people. I can't ever imagine owning another car other than a Lexus in the near future. Surprisingly they are a lot cheaper than the equivilent BMW/MERC, which is another reason why I love them.
  10. This listing (15092461556) has been removed, or this item is not available.
  11. Apologies for the spelling error - I am on shift and tired Once upon a time having air conditioning, automatic windows were considered luxury. Nowadays these features are standard. I notice that many new cars have a sat nav, leather seats and the usual jazz. Is the only thing luxury about cars nowadays the actual badge? I find it really hard to see how a new Lexus IS is more luxury than say a Ford Mondeo. I am seeing luxury considered more a limousine thing aka Rolls Royce and cars that people wouldn't necessarily drive themselves. This has always been the case of course, but when sales people try and sell me an idea that a car with the same features as a KIA as luxury, I find it tough to get my head around! It would be interesting to hear everybody's opinions!
  12. I had not heard of the nav screen failing, is this a common issue on the 05-11 GS too?
  13. I have found that it takes me a good 25/30 minutes for the back window to de-mist on my IS200 when it's particularly cold. And that's with the air con on pretty much full blast... I had my car valeted two weeks ago so I expect that the inside has a lot of moisture at the moment. I'm not sure if this is related, I don't recall misting on the back window being a problem the past two winters.
  14. Redout looks good, I've seen a few done before - You need to buy some green bulbs for it to glow amber though. Has anybody actually retrofit the new LED taillights if so was it a direct fit?
  15. Some bad news though, the loophole that allowed the owner of the vehicle escape fines on private land has closed also. Meaning that regardless who parked the car on private land the owner will have to pay the fine.
  16. From what I remember cars older than 2003 had an aluminium surround that corroded bad after a while. I had to purchase some new ones from a new car 03+ that are made from plastic instead.
  17. Sorry m8, assumed you mean't the double din dash kit :P Never knew the "dash tray" was an official part, I always thought it was aftermarket. Gonna get myself one of these now! THX
  18. Toyota Part No 55413-53010 - double din dash kit £50.50 + VAT
  19. I ordered mine from Toyota, it was about £65
  20. I was surprised to see an 09 LS going for roughly 14k. Seems like a bargain to me, some people are paying that for a ford!
  21. Ian, this is really interesting. I have changed my CD player and noticed that I do not get any signal. At best I get radio1 in Birmingham, but as soon as I leave the city centre it crackles all the way home to Worcestershire. Previously with my old stock stereo I got acceptable coverage, although it was poor... not half as bad as now. I will take a look at this now, the black cable that goes directly into the back of my cd player for the aerial, I can't say I noticed any other black wires coming off this. I have an S version w/out amplifier... edit: will wait for your reply before taking the dash out, it's a ballache.
  22. Don't think there is a current going to the aerial, are you sure?
  23. Scrapyard/ebay - you can pickup a seat cheap enough, and it's less hassle
  24. I think it's about time I joined up, been here a while - Before I part with w/money is I am slightly confused at the various sites it links to. From the link above on the announcement shall I keep proceeding and is access to post in the for sale area done straight away or do I need to email someone? Just want to make sure £30 goes to the right hands. (i.e goes from here to goldmembers.co.uk and then on to goldownersclub.com and then the email is for autoclubinternational.com huh?)
