  1. I worked as a car transporter driver at Toyota in Portbury and can tell you that the oval plug holes (torque box) ARE tie down points for when the vehicle is delivered on a transporter. Lately most cars are strapped up and over the wheels rather than use the torque box.If you still have the rubbers in the holes, then its likely your car was either wheel strapped or towing eyes were used to secure it too the transporter deck....
  2. Decisions decisions decisions, lol,I was having the same problem de-badge or not, then when washing the car i caught the Lexus emblem under the rag and it snapped,so i de-badged except for the central logo.I am pleased with the result, just go careful when polishing out the outlines after, dont over do it.
  3. Hi Jason,I just fitted some225/40 18 to my is200 sportcross. They are 7.5j and looking at the wheels you are thinking of buying it looks like the spokes are concave (running inward) as are mine. The only problem I can tell you is that with my set up the wheel spokes are almost in contact with the brake calipers, there is no more than 2mm clearance,so I would certainly clarify fitment before purchase. Try putting the size into one of the sites that sell alloys,or phone them up with the size.I think 8.5j is quite wide and will stick out from the arches. But I am no expert,so perhaps someone ''in the know''may well reply soon, probably to rip apart my post lol. Best of luck m8....
  4. I am getting some new alloys for my 05 plate is200 sportcross,I want 18'' wheels but am confused as to what tyre size mainly the profile. I been told 225/40 18 will fit and keep the speeo in sync. questions are will these work and is the speedo run off the road wheels or does it run off the gearbox. Any help would be appreciated guys.
  5. Thanks for the replies....The reason for getting the K&N filter is cos they are easier to replace and only cost about £8...I have not done an oil change yet but have been told and read they are a nightmare to remove. Is there an easy way to do it.
  6. I have an is200 sportcross and am trying to find a K&N oil filter for it.Can anyone tell me if the HP1002 will fit (its made for the is300 and longer) and if I will lose oil pressure using it. K&N dont seem to specify one for the is200
  7. My rear wiper has stopped working on my sportcross the fuse looks ok I need to now remove the inner cover from the boot, does anyone know how the panel comes off.I have taken all the plastic plugs out but it is still solid.ANY IDEAS?
  8. Hi I am Dave a new member and I have just bought a is200 sportcross. Its black with a badly stone chipped bonnet, its on an 05 plate and I got it for £3200 which I thought was a bargain. It has FLSH and only one owner from new.I LOVE this motor except for the fuel consumption,it creams it,but I will live with that and at 56years old I am slowly resisting the temptation to take on every boy racer out there, but with all that GRUNT under the bonnet its hard.I want to put some 17"alloys on can anyone answer me if I put 17"alloys on what tyre size in low profile would look good and keep the speedo in sync,or does the speedo run off the gearbox.Any help would be good. 0
