  1. Thanks for that info Dale much appreciated. Is it just a case of feeling about below the coil? I've been hunting for a picture in order to try and get a reference to work from. Cheers Pete.
  2. Blimey. Please chill out people lol. Its over and done with and this is all getting a bit daft. There really are more important things to worry about in life.......like what did I do with that picture of VBH where it was obviously very cold!
  3. Bolts? I thought it was the four screws on the top to remove.....this is probably where I'm going wrong! I did try and see below the coil but couldn't see a thing! Being ham fisted probably doesn't help. And yes I've got both coils waiting to go on. Shame your not closer. Actually where are you based for future reference?
  4. Thanks Dale. As Mike says its good to see people not putting up with daft prices. Are you Lexus trained or just really good with cars? The reason I ask is that my old Lexie does loads of miles so things wear out and need replacing. If you were up for doing repairs I would rather give you the cash than someone else. Ps if you have any tips on how to get the coils off a Mk3 I would love to know lol.
  5. Oh dear this is getting a bit daft now. Can the opposing opinions please agree to disagree. We weren't there when it happened so its hard to picture what went on. Peace maaaaan o_O
  6. There ya go. Have a drive up to Yorkshire, meet a fellow member and a mini break all rolled into one. Ps Dale when mine comes due again will that price still stand :-)
  7. Any excuse for a decent drive! I bet the whole episode was planned in advance to bring about a long overdue catch up with an old mucker. Lol.....love it
  8. Ouch !! I paid £320 for belt and waterpump although I suspect they didn't do the tensioners as Lexus mechanics don't seem to for some reason. Unfortunately I'm nowhere near you so not much help, sorry.
  9. Bugger......or words to that affect I imagine were muttered. Really sorry to hear your news. I caught my wing on a low post last year so I know how you feel. For some reason it really bothered me that my Lexie was hurt, it has never bothered me when someone hit my old omega, its just a car I thought and no one was hurt. Is the door from ebay the right colour as well? Pete.
  10. How very dare you dis VBH !!! LOL Ok I will give you Holly Whats her face on this morning though.
  11. That's a handy link Mike thanks. My coil pack is nothing like that one so not sure it will help but definitely gives me another angle to come at the problem from.
  12. Thanks Mike for that. Yes I do have ticking going on from where the injectors are but the installer didn't seem to think anything was untoward there. I have to say I have lost all confidence in him so I expect I will have to shell out for another installer to check them out. I just can't afford this at the moment so to say I'm miffed would be and under statement. I wonder if there is a 5th gear on rerun somewhere for VBH to cheers me up!
  13. I see what you mean. I was hoping changing the coils would prove things one way or the other. Many hours of reading on lpg forums suggest that the coils are often the culprit but not always. Why did they make that passenger side one so damned difficult to get off! I'm racking my brains trying to think if I have a mate with one of those cameras on a snake thing if you know what I mean so I could see where to offer up a socket to remove the whole bracket. I don't want to remove the rads to get access as that's a ball ache and loads of unnecessary expense!
  14. Well back to trawling Google for a coil removal tutorial. There must be one some where with pictures as I suspect I will have to remove brackets and then drill out the screws if all else fails. The driver's side (UK) seems like I might be able to remove/drill the screws in situ but the passenger side has virtually no access to two of the screws from above and I can't find a way to see what its screwed to underneath! Very frustrating.
  15. Yes they tick. I've never heard a gas injector that didn't though. Why? On another note. Me being the optimist thought, just unscrew those 4 screws on the coils and they will come right off..........prat !! Screws show no sign of moving and every sign of chewing. So here I stand with new coils and no damn way to fit them! To top it all off the weather's turning nasty again!
  16. Thanks for that, I will certainly get these things re looked at by the lpg installer. He is convinced my coils are the culprits and to be fair at 15 years old and 50 quid to replace they are worth a try. I will however not let him off the hook if there is no improvement.
  17. I was really tempted to replace my capacitors anyway after reading all those pages but although I'm reasonable with a soldering iron I think I might just give it a miss bearing in mind I NEED my car on the road. Mind you a man of your caliber might be able to make a few bob doing this job. Do have a price in mind?
  18. Slightly off topic but having fitted iridium ngks and new ht leads which haven't cured my lpg misfire, I'm fitting new coils in the next hour or so while its not raining. If anyone has any notes on fitting or notes of caution for that matter, I'm all ears. Cheers me dears.
  19. Hmmm VBH ........ Anyone else find her squeals of delight slightly attractive or is it just me!
