  1. Hi, Ever since I got my RX400 SE-L, I've had a problem with the sound from the rear DVD system i.e. you could only hear the DVD if the headphones were right next to the sound transmitters in the b-pillar. After speaking to Lexus, I'm informed that this is a known problem because the original installation was flawed. To fix it, I was put in touch with an auto-electrician who has cured this problem many times (N.B. this is clearly a wide-spread factory installation problem but my local Lexus dealer was not about to fix it FOC :megaangry: ). Anyway, I've had a new transmitter installed in the roof, just before the tailgate opening and the sound is now working. Next problem is that I don't have a remote control for the player so you have to grovel about under the driver's seat to get the disc to play. Been quoted £84 from Lexus - anyone know of a cheaper option? Best London
  2. Hello, Not sure if my battery problems are the same as mentioned here. Within the last week, the car wouldn't start after sitting in it for 15 minutes with the radio on and the engine off. This happened again last night but I left it for 20 minutes and it started. Previously, it had been OK to do this (I spend a lot of my time waiting for children to appear from various venues!). Been to the local Battery garage and they tested it and said it was "75%" (not sure what this means, but apparently it was OK). In fairness, they could have just put a new battery in and charged (pun not intentional) me for it. Regardless of the battery test, should I just buy a new one or is this a symptom of something more complicated (and no doubt, more expensive). TIA Ldn
  3. Thanks for the suggestions. Just been out to the car and as far as I can tell the transmitters are seated correctly on both sides but it's still like listening to Radio Luxembourg! Guess I'm going to have a trip to the dealer. Ldn
  4. Hi, Just bought a RX400h SE-L with the rear DVD system but I'm having a problem with the headphones. I've replaced the batteries and can get sound if they are very near the screens. As you move back to a normal sitting position, the sound just goes. I wondered if a system reset might help but the front of my DVD unit is different from the one in the manual so I don't know how to do a reset - anyone got any ideas? TIA Ldn
  5. Happy Easter All, Just purchased a RX400h SE-L, 07 reg in dark grey. I'm new to Lexus as I've had usual German brands in the past. Still getting use to it and ploughing my way through all the manuals! Everything seems OK apart from intermittent sound through the rear headphones but I've seen a thread on that already. Anyway, I know this post is no good with out photos so here it is: Here is my other car: Ldn
