  1. Awesome, the convoy was pretty cool last time around I'd be up for doing it again. Truck stop at 9:50 sounds good.
  2. Anybody travelling up the m1 want to meet up at the truck stop like last time?
  3. Just looked through all the pics posted so far on here, some really good ones posted. After seeing and hearing Ally's exhaust, I've definitely got it on my wishlist!
  4. I'm going to be up very bright and early in the morning for a wash/wax and vacuum...gonna scrub her up as close to my departure as possible as the pigeons round here have a habit of redecorating anything that sits on my driveway!
  5. This falls on my route so would def be up for meeting here
  6. Really intriguing to read through this thread, everybody loves a good mystery hey! Are you sure that the car hasn't been moved whatsoever? Seems silly that no authorities seem like they want to own it i.e. Police NHS Council etc. It might be the case that whoever parked it there knows exactly what they're doing and simply doesn't want to tax or use the car for a while so have plodded it there hoping that nobody will notice.
  7. Bit late on the take as I haven't been on here in a while, but I'd be up for this as it isn't a million miles away from me. Might bring a mate along too, he's not a lex owner but is an enthusiast so I'm sure he'd be up for it.
  8. Mine does this too, same as my previous IS200....Very noticeable in the recent cold weather! I think more than just the colour of the fumes, the smell will be a big indicator if there's a problem. A smell if its strong and distinctive might be cause for concern but otherwise nothing to worry about.
  9. Not saying its a definite cause and I'm no expert but I've heard of this sort of thing happening and electrics misbehaving after power surges i.e. fuses didn't do their job. A while ago I stupidly jump started with the polarities wrong way around (this was the single most stupid thing I've ever done for so many reasons - but thats another story!), lost ignition lost everything luckily the fuse did its job though and after an AA callout and replacement fuse all was fine, while waiting for the AA to arrive though I remember doing a bit of research on the web at the time and heard of many people experiencing problems with locks, windows, sunroof etc only partially working or not working at all after a reversed polarity jump start.
  10. With Christmas just around the corner and being in the festive spirit I thought this would be something worth sharing...I recently found out from a colleague that Vodafone offer a pretty nifty 20% off line rental for new contracts if you work for any of the following companies: 3663 Accenture ADP Agilent Alix Partners Arriva Aston Martin AXA Tech Barclays Capital BBC BDR Thermea Berkhamsted School Biffa Black and Decker Blackrock BLNW BP British Gas Cadbury Carlsberg Centrica Chubb Insurance Colliers International Compass Computer Associates Constellation Brands Cordia Cueta Healthcare Cunningham Lindsey DPD DTZ Electronic Arts Ernst and Young Expro Ford Ford Retail GE GeoPost Gilead Sciences Gladedale Global Radio Goldman Sachs GSK Halcrow Hallmark Hawker Beechcraft HCL HP HSBC IBM Innserve Interlink express JD Sports Kraft Lloyds Banking Group Maersk Medtronic MITIE NCG Nestle New Look Nexus NHS Dumfries & Galloway NHS Grampian Northern Rail Panasonic Pepsi Punter Southall RBS Reed Elsevier Resource Shop Direct Thames Water The Scottish Government Thomson Reuters Thorntons Trelleborg UBS Unipart United Utilities Visteon Whitbread WPP You can redeem by taking a work ID or recent wage slip into a vodafone shop or by completing this online form here: https://www.vodafone...ntage/index.htm By the way I'm not an employee of Vodafone!
  11. Suxelis check out this thread I made a while back...I have an xcarlink adapter fitted in mine and I used to have the grom in my old lexus so its a comparison of the two. They're pretty simple to install if your even the slightest bit handy and as long as you look at the instructions and understand them you'll be fine. There's a very useful link I posted in that thread if you check it out http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=78148
  12. Really feel for you mate, such a shame. Having seen pics of your car on here I must admit always thought she was a lovely example.
  13. A friend of mine told me he used tesco compare and it gave him the cheapest prices...I've never been on it myself but perhaps worth adding to that list
  14. Whenever I listen to bass music on my stock stereo at around 40% volume or above I get a rattling from the back...after snooping around with the volume up the other day it appears to actually be the rear windscreen itself (or something rattling against it perhaps) that is the culprit, as when I press firmly against the glass from the inside it greatly reduces the rattle to almost nothing. Anybody else had this problem? And is there a known easy fix? It's slowly grown worse over the last few weeks and is starting to really get on my tits as I'm a little bit of an audiophile and like my music to sound crisp and clear. I Never had this issue with my last IS which was actually a good few years older than the current one and I used to push the stereo harder when I had that car. Both the same spec IS200 SE with stock soundsystem...
  15. I had the same problem, got a replacement fuse from Parkinsons local to me they didnt have in stock but ordered next day, was about 3.56 + VAT http://www.parkinsons.co.uk/
  16. Reverse beeping anyone??? To be truthful it doesn't really bug me that much, what bugs me is the mocking comparison to HGV's I get whenever I take anyone for a ride!
  17. It was absolutely shocking mate...simply would not stop raining people were leaving shortly after we arrived on saturday it was that bad. We got there a little bit late on saturday and got turned away told to come back in the morning so we stayed in our cars which was a bit of a blessing in disguise to be honest because some of the campsites were like a mudbath, flooding upto 1.5m of water in some parts of the site. One thing I can say is I doubt I'll ever confidently pay another trip to creamfields after this experience! Next year I'll be either sticking to global or heading overseas! Outlook in Croatia looks good, or Sonar in Barcelona...if your going global next year I may well see you there
  18. Agreed, they offered me about 30% lower than my last car actually sold for...
  19. I had this issue with my previous IS...new plugs didn't help and I don't believe it was the battery either as a cold jumpstart made no difference. I never did get round to solving it as the car's now gone.
  20. Mine is still running the original battery on an 8 year old car but I had to jumpstart it this weekend. Still ok day to day but caused me a lot of hassle this weekend as the main alternator fuse blew when jumpstarting it...I think it's probably time to invest in a new one before winter arrives. Anybody have any suggestions on what type of battery they can recommend other than the OEM one or where I can get one for a good price? Also the AA guy replaced the 120A main alternator fuse with an 80A one for the time being but obviously want to get this replaced for the proper capacity fuse ASAP...tried a few local autopart stores and nobody seems to do 120A ones. Any idea where I can get hold of one of these other than from a dealer?
  21. Silly question, but they weren't a set of anthracite 18's by any chance were they??
  22. Thank you for your input. What sort of money were you selling your cars at? I have sold most of my cars privately in the past but they were all at the lower end of the market, i.e. probably less than £2000.00 whereas I am now trying to sell at nearer to £10000.00 and I don't think that is so easy. It would be nice if you came back to me to tell me that yours were higher value cars, this would give me a lot more confidence. Not that high value unfortunately, all under £3k. It's still definitely worth a punt though I'd say as it'll cost you between £15-20 to place a decent ad for a month and mine all sold within that time. One even sold within two days, although it was only a rusty M reg corsa for a couple of hundred quid. One thing though is that I have a fairly accomplished ebay account with a 100% feedback rating, if your a brand new member selling for the first time it might have an impact on attracting potential buyers.
  23. I've sold three cars via ebay classifieds, very good place to advertise I'd say
