  1. Jomo.....correct diagnosis!! havnt had a new windscreen, but i opened up the cover and removed the 10a gauge fuse and the terminals were slightly brown with what i can only assume was rust due to damp/water so i used some wet and dry paper and put it back in and everything is back to normal! i noticed that the case for the 40a fuse on the top row left was missing and bare terminals showing. also i jiggled some wire and the indicator and horn started flashing. and what is in that yellow box behind the fuse panel, i gave that a wiggle and the security light started flashing at irregular intervals! i think i need to get my girlfriends hair dryer in there! Thanks Jomo spot on m8
  2. buy a tezza, must be a few in aus, your not that far from jap so cant be that pricey, interior swap or re upholstered into leather. job done.
  3. Driving my car today i noticed that the engine temp gauge kept going up to half way then back down to 0 again and my MPG gauge was doing nothing, then my orange low petrol light started flashing in the way that the security light does and thennnn the door open ping started going off and the handbrake light came on even though there was no doors open and the handbrake was off. WTF?!! also the outside temp just says E and i can disengage Traction control but i cant engage snow. is my ECU fooked? also the car drives fine and the oil light in the bottom left corner stays on for a long time then goes out. any ideas at all lads would be much appreciated, but i guess i wont know for sure till a diagnostic is done and i get some codes back
  4. cheers lads, well i hate the back box its coming straight off and the original going back on saturday. its sounds like a **** subaru i hate it, plus it sticks out quite abit from the bumber and looks like a space cannon. keeping the manifold, downpipe and mid section tho. had to weld a new sensor hole on the manifold as the original was catching on the wheel arch wall and had to weld a sensor hole on the mid section as there wasnt one there at all! anyone recomend a decent backbox that has no cabin drone at cruise but sounds sweet when u put your foot down?
  5. cheers steve :) thats a cheaper option than spening 100 quid on that hks module!
  6. Right so iv fitted a pipercross panel filter, De-cat manifold, 300 cell sports cat downpipe and a stainless 4" cat back. I have heard this can reduce power as the ecu is not tuned for this type of stuff, is this true? my Engine Management light has not come on as of yet. i have been looking at this on Tdi http://www.tdi-plc.com/catalog/hks-afr-p-4093.html?osCsid=d4fb4b022f784f21edcc71c624e54fd1 will this help? also this http://www.tdi-plc.com/catalog/simulator-needed-when-removed-p-4095.html?osCsid=d4fb4b022f784f21edcc71c624e54fd1 any help off someone who has had experience in this area would be much appreciated, cheers lads.
  7. had my car in the garage today getting the wheels aligned properly and new brakes pads...while it was up on the ramp i noticed that there is a 3rd o2 sensor after the downpipe so im going to have to get somebody to drill a hole and weld a threaded socket on. any ideas??
  8. No the one he wants is in the front, its a little 10w bayonet bulb. Rare as rocking horse ***** m8, only Place to get that is lexus
  9. for 90 quid im not complaining! maybe some pliers with kitchen roll over the teeth might do it. its going in on wednesday to get fitted aswell as a few other little jobs, new gearbox and diff oil, new mintex brake pads, a full geometry on the wheels to sort out inside tyre wear and iv fitted a pipercross panel filter. plus in the post from off ebay is the new style sport grill, and a new nearside headlight as the one i have is green and foggy on the inside. so once all that is out the way i can concentrate on getting the bodywork up to scratch, or the lack of scratched rather!
  10. yeah cheers m8 im quite familiar with the bahamnut workshop manual, it seems to be the only place on the net where its available! yeah i think you may be right, i think the sensor im talking about (bank 2 sensor 1) is only on the is300. anyways the cat back came today! the box was a bit battered tho :/ and there was a little dint in the exhaust tip but for 90 quid delivered im not that fussed! heres some pics. and the tip with a slight dint on the right side
  11. Thats great news regarding the manifold! But I thought there was a third sensor after the cat on the downpipe located just after the flange?
  12. cheers m8, just found out though the cat back exhaust which hasnt been delivered yet does not have the sensor hole on the midsection at the end where it connects to the downpipe :/ so im going to have to get somebody to bore a hole and weld a threaded cap on it. any ideas??
  13. u would be better off buying an altezza and doing an interior swap, 2k for a tte supercharger kit or 2k for an entire altezza with a beams engine that wipes the floor with a 1gfe
  14. mate, iv been after one for a year only one i can find is led replacement on ebay and its blue...
  15. as north said, take the wheel off and inspect the caliper and pad, it doesnt sound like the wheel bearing from the noise you described, but if is the pad breaking down this can be dangerous as it can totally lock your wheel up and on the motorway thats not a good thing.
