  1. Sat in Wheels on Motion right now having them sort out geometry on my 2003 is200. Looking forward to the drive home!
  2. Bought a low mileage used pair off a 2000 LS400 to replace the original pair on my 1995 Mk3. Will they fit? James
  3. That's the plan. Been like it for three years! You all probably think I need to go to spec savers cause I also realised recently that both plastic front sections of the inner wheel arch are missing! My mate bought an indentical white 1995 gold badged LS400 from the bay on Saturday. He was the only bidder cause it hadnt been listed under 'cars' so I don't think anyone saw it. Anyway I drove him to get it and noticed that mine ismissing the wheel arch inners. BTW very interesting to drive an identical model after 19 years and compare....
  4. Not attached to the dash at all. Funnily didn't affect how it worked, even when pushing the cartridge in I couldn't tell. It was just an annoying vibration noise which I tracked down to that area and when I finally got round to taking out the glove box etc I could tell. Had a look at the google search and can see that those brackets are absent! Shame, Steve, that I took so long to get round to looking into this!
  5. Realised today after three years that my CD changer is not held in place by anything. There should be a bracket. It's a 1995 Mk3. Anyone able to confirm what should be there and where I could get it? Cheers James
  6. So had decided to sell my 1995 LS400 after three years but just couldn't bring myself to do it! Plus, car suddenly develped rear wheel noise which was probably the cars way of telling me not to sell! Decided to go ahead with rear suspension rebuild so on the look out for parts and bushes. Apologies to the Gold Members for my previous post which was deemed to be an advert and deleted. More years of happy motoring. .. James
  7. 1995 LS400 150,000 Owned since April 2011 Aerial and motor replaced off side passenger speaker not working and replaced with used Bonnet struts Boot leak - replaced rubber twice Front springs Engine mounts and gear box mount to cure clonk sound on start up Rear shocks and springs to improve rear ride. Helped but will now do a full change of all rear bushes and wishbones. Rear has always sat low and car hasn't coped well with three adults in the back. Stereo unit replaced due to no backlight and digits irregular Never tried to fix the heated seats. Shame as could do with them. Power steering reservoir leak so replaced the o ring. Occassional lack of power at start up so replaced sparks and leads Alloys corroded - used set but they are now starting to flake. I think that's all. Most of the above I knew about when I bought the car but the price was good and it had a good lpg system. This now 10 years old and works very well. Cheers James
  8. Any recommendations on a good match alloy touch up kit for original 1995 alloys? No kerbing just a bit flaky in places. Cheers
  9. Yes. I couldn't think of what to call it! BTW started beautifully this am and acceleration was very strong and smooth from cold/damp.
  10. Finally had time to replace the plugs and leads and noticed an immediate improvement. Have to wait for a damp morning to see if main issue resolved. However when removing both the 'C' leads half the plastic insulation 'nipple' came away with the lead too. Same on both sides. I was having to drive home so needed to put everything back together. I couldn't replace those two leads because half the holder is still inside the lead. I flayed the metal head so that it was a tight fit, refitted both leads, pulled down the lead cover as best I could and hoped for the best! No noticeable issue. What should I do? Can I replace just the part if the distributor that has the six connectors? Or if it seems fine leave it. Hope my explanation makes sense. Didn't have chance to take snaps. Jim
  11. Yup cold damp weather and improves when warm. It 'feels' like it's not firing on all cylinders. Jim
  12. Hello all Not needed to post for ages as the 1995 LS400 has been running well. However with a bit of damp weather I am getting sluggish acceleration while the engine is warming up. I run on lpg and once the engine is warmed up the problem has gone. Feels like its struggling to find the next gear. Any thoughts? Jim PS Been side tracked with a 1991 v8 Soarer lately!
  13. ABS warning light had been on for a while and mot approaching. My garage dudnt charge me for running a diagnostic which said fault was either drivers front or passenger rear. Simon, on the site, did me a great deal on the two abs sensors/leads off his old LS and dropped them into my work for a tenner. Fitted the front one today and off went the warning light. Happy days! Big thanks, Simon.
  14. Anyone sourced new rear wishbones for a good price lately? Cheers Jim
