Can you imagine now this weekend I'll be stationed outside my Lex with a stopwatch in one hand, mobile phone in the other and keys on the ground so I don't accidentally hit them, calling to someone to phone my mobile after the 30 seconds is up, and presumably I'll have to try this in several scenarios. I'll be wasting minutes this weekend!!!! Also when I spoke to Lexus about this, they asked for a contact telephone number. I said I'll give you my mobile...... obviously thought better of it :D

Well that started some chat. I spoke to Lexus yesterday (Croydon), basically told him what happened, but said I haven't had time to mess around yet but will at the weekend. However, I did ask what could be done if there really is a problem and he said nothing, but that was probably just the wrong answer to my question and I'll get a better one if I have to talk to them again. BUT, he didn't mention anything about this auto locking business which I haven't tested yet either. He did say that he'd heard it happen to BMW's and Audi's but never Lexus's. Is the definitive answer to Does the new RX300 lock itself after approx 30secs if I turn off the engine and get out of the car and slam the door - YES??

Hi, this is not a joke and not a feature I desire but I have stumbled on a bizarre phenomenum. Sometimes my mobile phone can operate the locks on my new RX300. I bought the car 1/9/03 and first thought something was funny maybe October time when I was outside my car talking with my plumber with my phone in my hand. Someone called me and I swore the hazards on my car flicked and I heard the locking sound, so I told my plumber but he just thought I waas kidding him and I thought maybe I hit the car keys by mistake so thought no more of it. Then 2 days ago I had filled my car up and went into the shop to pay the cashier WITH MY KEYS, leaving the car open with my fiance and little baby in the back seat. My phone was in a cradle near the dash. While I was paying a mate called me, my partner couldn't reach the phone so she left it but the doors had locked on her. I came back the car was locked, so opened the car as normal and Sara told me as soon as the phone went off the doors locked. Crazy eh?? Needless to say I tried to recreate the scenario at home but it didn't work on cue. But thinking back I am now sure it has happened more than just the twice. I haven't spent much time messing about with the phone though so dont know yet if I could get it to work on demand. Anyway Haven't contacted Lexus yet just too busy, but anyone had the same experience or know what I should do. The phone is a Nokia 3300 and the car an RX300 SE Go figure???

Please dont get gooey on the Smart Car, my partner wants me to get her one so she can drive that instead of the RX300, with our little baby and all - can you sort her out please!!!!

Hi, has anyone used the Lexus Sat Nav in Europe? I get my car on 1st September and want to drive straight to Paris (ok I know it's probably only 2 roads from the M25) but as I've never used it how detailed is the info. Does it go low level in Europe, display distances in Klicks or miles etc etc. Cheers Verbal

Hi all, first post but had to say congrats, your baby's probably arrived by now. I did things opposite to you, my partner had Natasha 3 weeks ago :D so i had to sell my Honda S2000 . That went yesterday and have ordered my RX300 SE for 1st of September :P . I want it NOW though but thought it made sense to hold out for the new reg!!
