  1. Ouch! take it that would be lower ball joint in your case.
  2. Hello, Steerings just started to slightly whine at parking speeds though only when steering wheel is actually turning, steering pump is brand new, fluid is above cold when cold, belt is tight. I have some actual premium Toyota ATF type-IV left over from a trans flush, should I use that for steering top ups or not? Also steering has been heavier for sometime. Ball joints or steering rack? who knows. Any suggestions would be great thanks.
  3. Hi all, probably going to have WIM fix some or all of my cars issues soon but mainly to fix the factory is200 front geometry problem. So wondered whats the cost usually for the geometry job they do to correct the fast/uneven front tyre wear? many thanks.
  4. sorry to pee on your fire but your no further forward!!the front calipers have slides ie thats why theirs play...its ment to be their... as for the rears they are fixed and dont have slides ie thats why they are solid and have no movement..... so em back to the drawing board matey haha doesnt suprise me , cheers anyway
  5. Ok just to pick some brains again, my car has the standard clicky knock issue going over road humps even at parking speeds, & at recent service they couldnt find the fault. I put my hand thru the alloys on the front wheels to grasp the top-centre of the caliper & on both wheels theres some play, like a slight wobble to me & away from me, though not on the rear ones as they seem tight. Could I have solved it now and is it fixable as i've come to believe its something with brakes more than anything else. :)
  6. About right, got quoted £275. right o thanks.
  7. Quick one, just wondering how much I should expect to pay, roughly speaking, for a full respray on rear bumper before I go shopping around bodyshops, as mines pretty bad all over. Cracked paint, chips, the lot cheers.
  8. Cheers all, thought it be something simple, will try again tomorrow with the greasing and whacking! :)
  9. Ok unless I missed something obvious here, I need to remove the near side rear alloy & on removing all nuts on the raised alloy the stupid thing just will not move off the hub , stuck there as if nuts still there. Usually as you remove the final nut you may have to get ready to catch the wheel as it pops off, or at least it did with my old astra, so I knew something was up. Any ideas would be gr8 ,dont know if its seized, needs lube or what. Cheers
  10. hello people, just bought a 2004 IS200 SE auto 84,000 (cam belt changed at 71,000) alloys need refurb, rear bumper scuffs but generally quite decent as is this forum. :)
