  1. If anyone's interested they were done by chap local to me called Reece. The wheels needed a bit of refurb from slight kerbing but the tyres were just taken off the bead rather than removed because of pressure sensors. They were painted and baked all in a day.
  2. Decided to repaint the original wheels in the end, as aftermarket wheels posed too many problems. I like the result though, brings it bang up to date I think. Sorted.
  3. Yes I assume they're the original wheels and not corroded, but who knows how many times they've been refurbished by successive dealers......my beloved girlfriend scraped one recently and it def looks like it's been repainted at some point by the layers of paint revealed.... Of course if I want black or anthracite colour wheels it may be cheaper/easier just to have these original ones repainted....maybe as a last resort!
  4. Thanks for comments / info guys. Regarding size the OE wheels are 19" and as my tyres are fairly new I don't want to change size. I think the TP sensors may be an issue but am awaiting response from 2 wheel suppliers.
  5. Made a pigs ear of this post as I'm not sure best way to insert images...sorry. Anyway the question is....I think some nice anthracite or black wheels would look rather cool on my arctic pearl LS, as the original wheels are a bit ordinary. But am always wary of moving away from original stuff for all the usual reasons ....has anyone else changed wheels on their LS460? Not sure if the tyre pressure sensors are an issue....?

  7. Thanks Steve & Graham for info. Guess i should be happy that the satnav allows new destinations on the move, so I'll stop fussing over the DVD not playing...just thought it would give me something to do while the car drives itself using it's adaptive cruise control and lane assist and...well I was starting to feel a bit redundant! Graham thanks for the tip about switching off not in Park - very useful to know that as I keep embarrassing myself by cutting my phone calls off when I park up! :) and yes it feels a lot heavier than my GS so I'll forgive it a slight loss of power advantage. Overall I so impressed with the LS though, and I'm struggling to find fault with how they've designed it. Boot is a bit small though innit?
  8. Had the car about 3 weeks now and wonder if anyone can answer initial queries. It's a November 2006 SE-L - the satnav allows you to input destinations etc on the move, but the DVD won't show on the front screen unless parked up...can that be overridden? - same for the telephone , only seems to allow speed dial on the move, despite letting you play with the satnav to your hearts content...Why? - some slight wind noise from drivers side window....hmm - gearbox seems very confused, sluggish when you floor it compared to my 2002 GS430. Looking at another thread it sounds like I should leave it in Sport mode? - when you stop the engine it kills the radio, Bluetooth connection.... everything ....very annoying. Is there any way to modify that? - is there a volume adjustment for the DVD player when using the headphones other than the knob on the headphones themselves? It's a bit quiet on the move if you have radio playing for the front passengers These probably sound like silly problems...I guess with a car as fabulous overall it's a question of seeking perfection! All help much appreciated! Steve
  9. A further sear related query....do the rear seats actually recline as much as shown in the picture in the LOC gallery?? Have had a little play with the rear seat controls but don't recall the squab flattening out like that...is that just on the 600?
  10. Thanks, glad to be here :) Have had two GS430 and an RX350 before the LS so I guess I am a fan of the marque, preferably the V8 variants which are just awesome in my humble opinion. Anyway thanks for the info which I will try out tomorrow. Not much else to do on a wet bank holiday weekend I suppose... Also found this on he web: http://www.lambros.net/LexusTechInfo/2007LS/L-PD040-07.pdf Steve
  11. Recently bought a 460SE-L and all good but for some inexplicable reason the front seat memory function is now kaput. The seat moves ok, but when sliding it back I get a beeping.sound which is odd, and the memory function just won't work at all. I.e you cannot store any memory positions. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, steve
