  1. Attached photo of one of the old worn tyres, and one of the newly refurbished wheels, powder coated in gloss black then given the disco effect, as soon as the sun hits them they sparkle like mad!!
  2. I totally agree with your humble opinion, makes sense👍
  3. Have used Wheels in Motion, Chesham, to do alignment and it was spot on, but when I had the H&R springs fitted they cannot get it right, had to take it back to them a few times as not happy with the feel of the steering, but have now given up. Have recently had wheels refurbed and new tyres fitted and noticed that both original front and rear tyres on n/s, were worn badly on the outside edge. Also I find when reversing off my driveway on full lock, can feel/hear the front o/s wheel rubbing against the wheel hub arm. Fella at ATS who fitted new tyres, refused to do alignment as he reckoned that having lowered springs fitted would mess up his alignment figures and he couldn't be certain that it would be correct. I really think that you are right, the person needs to know exactly what they are doing when adjusting the alignment on cars, or else it gets worse! I've noticed that Kwik Fit offer a free alignment check, might be worth letting them have a look and see what the print out looks like...🤔
  4. So a few years ago I had lowered H&R springs fitted, since then garages have had issues trying to get the alignment right, they reckon that not being "standard" it throws all the figures out, anyone else had this problem?
  5. Seriously, get on fleabag, not original but work fine for less than £100
  6. Check the tyres! Are they the same make, groove pattern?
  7. Is200 SE, Sport, manual, automatic?
  8. Had it a lot recently, in traffic or just parking, fella wants to buy my car, really odd as it's an old is300, bloke offered me 3k this afternoon, took his number for politeness as don't really want to sell, are these is300's sort after now? If so, why?? Wouldn't get this in your ford Mundao
  9. Sounds more likes relay problem rather than a fuse.
  10. So this slight knock is most probably one of the slider pins knocking inside the worn slider mount, I have had this, either get a good used one (but you will be lucky to find one which doesn't have the same problem) or remove the pins and fill with correct grease , this will make it less pronounced.
  11. The only time my rear discs got rusty was when the garage forgot to remove clamps from the rear brake rubber pipes! The rear brakes are not used as much as the fronts, but that does not make them corrode and rust, there has to be a caliper/fluid pressure problem.
  12. I notice that the garage who fitted the ball joints also done the alignment 🤔 When garage fitted mine and I collected the car, the steering was at 1 o clock which it wasn't before, and when I drove it the steering was really heavy. I then took it to WIM to have the tracking re alignment done, car still felt heavy. So i looked at the facts and decided to take the car to a different local garage who fitted Lucas ball joints instead, the car then felt lighter as it did before 🆒 but the steering was now at 11 0 clock!! So I had to take car back to WIM and get them to do it again! On closer inspection of the ball joints, it appeared that the holes where the bolts go through, were totally out!! This put the steering out and made it feel heavy to drive. So you wouldn't know if you steering was out of line, and by how much, as you never saw/drove the car after they fitted ball joints. Seriously, for what it costs, take the car to a different garage and have them changed for a different make, I bet the steering wheel will be out of line, but the car will drive as it should again. Being fobbed off that it will lighten up is complete dogs 💩
  13. Ps, don't get them from Euro crap parts, cheap rubbish ball joints.
  14. I've had this problem before, turned out that the ball joints were faulty/rubbish, get them changed for a different make, this will cure the problem.
  15. The greenstuff pads have a more metal content, which makes them grip the disc harder, which I assume would cause more heat to the discs...
  16. Strange coincidence this, recently I had the wobble again! Bought new pair of discs, eliminated the nearside disc, problem was offside disc warped. Found nothing wrong with the sliders or caliper, I am looking for a complete used hub assembly at the moment, but only one on fleabay for £99 which is to much, is till reckon that the arms on these hubs twist somehow which causes the disc to run untrue. So upgrading brakes/calipers etc isn't something that I have considered, but who knows? Just can't believe that Lexus would make a quality car with brakes that need upgrading🤔
  17. Have used the greenstuff pads in the past, downside was the cost, and found they needed a few miles to warm up before working properly, apart from that, great fast road pads. Gone back to Brembo pads now, find they do the job fine. I think the red stuff would be to harsh for normal road use, and yellow definitely just for track. Can't see that the heat is warping the discs, unless you're diving it at the 24hour Lemans! Have you worked out if it's the offside or nearside disc that is the problem??
  18. Slipping clutch, possible duel mass flywheel, 1k to replace, pass it by..
  19. Solder joints were all cracking
  20. Very much so, especially when it costs 0 🍺
  21. So weather not to bad this morning, it was exactly as Colin thought, I removed the sensor, desoldered then resoldered the joints, which were all bad and cracking, resealed, put everything back together, reset codes, problem fixed🆒🍺🍺🍺
