  1. As a former Prius owner I was very familiar with the braking issues which were corrected with a software fix. I have had my ct200 for 14 months an have recently become aware of a similar issue in that the braking seems to flutter occasionally when braking sharply on a downhill gradient. Today it happened immediately after going over a bump in the road. To me it seems very similar to how the Prius used to feel. Has anybody else noticed this? If it continues to happen, I will take it in for a check, but I recall taking my Prius back and being told there was nothing wrong, and it was some months before Toyota accepted that there was a problem.
  2. I bought the SE L last June soon after they went on sale. Although I had studied the spec, I found mine had some unexpected extras. The salesman told me the first few off the production line had been incorrectly spec'd. I think the extras I got were : Smart key locking, photochromatic rear view mirror and electric door mirrors.
  3. Took it in for the recall. They replaced the coolant, gave me half a tank of fuel and washed the car!
  4. Just had a call from my dealer to advise of a recall for coolant change. Anyone know anything about this?
  5. I have my clock settings as :- Time Zone - Greenwich Daylight Saving time - ON Auto adjust clock - ON But last weekend at the end of summertime, the time didn't change back one hour. I can disable 'auto adjust' and manually set it back one hour, but if I set it back to auto, it moves the hour forward again. Am I misunderstanding how this works?
  6. Two more villains are off the streets ..... When my tyre valve caps disappeared a few weeks ago, we suspected a couple of young boys who had been hanging around outside. Yesterday my neighbour caught them nicking caps off another car. He knew where they lived, so went round and had a quiet word with their dad. This afternoon I answered a knock at the door and two women with a rather sheepish looking pair of kids about ten years old were there. The woman said, my son and his his friend have something to say to you. Looking rather red and heads hanging down, they said 'we are sorry we stole your tyre valve caps and we promise we won't do it ever again.' Then they returned two chrome caps to me. I must admit I was a bit speechless at first, but I just said 'well as long as it won't happen again, we'll say no more about it.' I thanked their mothers who informed me that I would not be seeing them on the streets again for a while as they were well and truly grounded! I can sleep safely in my bed tonight knowing two more villains are off the streets!
  7. Those little black plastic (or metal if you have a posh car) things that screw onto your tyre valves, presumably to stop dust getting into the valve. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchCmd?srch=dust+caps&x=0&y=0&action=search&storeId=10001&catalogId=10151&langId=-1
  8. Noticed today that three of my shiny new tyre valve metal dust caps had disappeared! I guess the tea leaf was disturbed before they got the last one off. Hardly the crime of the century as they are readily available for around £3 on ebay, but I guess I'll just replace them with cheap plastic ones. Anyone want to buy just one genuine Lexus metal tyre valve dust cap?
  9. Good job I didn't take mine back to have the 'faulty' light fixed
  10. in the manual, it shows two cupholder lights which I think are a couple of blue leds that shine down from the roof lighting panel. (Seem a bit pointless really) On my ct200 only the drivers side led lights up. Should both of them light up or is it just one depending on whether its left or right hand drive?
  11. Had a short trip up the motorway last night, and must say I didn't notice any sudden increase in audio volume as my speed increased. It's possible there may have been a slight gradual increase. However it did occur to me that there isn't really any noticeable noise inside the car when driving at motorway speeds, so I guess there's no real need to increase the audio volume. As Kylie says ..... You've joined the quiet revolution.
  12. 1. I can't say I noticed much difference on my Prius. I'll try it on the CT200 and let you know what I think. 2. I've loaded quite a lot of mp3 tracks to a usb stick and am quite pleased with the sound quality. Haven't tried an mp3 CD yet, so will also get back to you on that. Just a thought, but are your usb mp3 tracks recorded at the same bit rate as your mp3 cd's ? Just another thought, I think sound settings can be set for each indivdual source. Are they set the same for usb and cd ?
  13. I've covered around 250 miles over my first week with the ct200h and the mpg is showing 55mpg. This is mainly short stop start urban journeys with some short motorway trips. Stayed mainly in normal mode. This is pretty similar to my previous Prius, so I'm pleased with what I'm getting. I'll be filling the tank this weekend and resetting the reading to see if I can increase this.
  14. On the Toyota Prius, there is a Firewire socket behind the satnav screen which is visible when you open it to insert a CD. I believe this is there to update the map data, but it can only be done by the Toyota dealer. I think some owners have connected a laptop to the Firewire socket, but have not been unable to access the HDD, so I guess Toyota have specialist software to update the syestem. Only had my CT200h a couple of days and haven't seen any Firewire socket, but I guess it must be there somewhere. I suspect it works in the same way as the Prius and can only be updated by the dealer.
  15. Hi Geoff, Picked up my CT this morning also. I have to admit that though I put some albums on the HDD on my Prius, I didn't bother in the end and just used either DVDRs with mp3 or just bluetooth with my iPhone. However, I put one of the DVDRs into the CT and it didn't read it! Just as well I didn't burn too many of those but mostly CDRs! Anyway I just found this on Play.com. http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/14366702/Hewlett-Packard-V165-16GB-USB-Flash-Drive/Product.html?searchtype=allproducts&searchsource=0&searchstring=usb+memory+stick&urlrefer=search It doesn't look as small as this: http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/16414604/LaCie-MosKeyto-8GB-USB-2-0-Flash-Drive/Product.html?searchtype=allproducts&searchsource=0&searchstring=moskeyto&urlrefer=search but is a lot cheaper!! Hi, yes I had seen the Lacie one on the american Lexus forum. Apparently the lid can be closed over this one, not sure about the other one as it looks a bit bigger.
