  1. I think there is a disable switch in the glove box to stop power operation of tailgate. Check the manual for location of switch.
  2. Excellent, I was very close to getting my last car (a smart roadster) wrapped to change from blue to white, but then wife got preggers and had to part ex it for the Rx. Let us know how it goes... Theres also a guy called David Yu at evo magazine who had his GT-R wrapped, you can look up his reports on the evo website I think.
  3. Why not consider getting it wrapped by one of the many vinyl wrap specialists?
  4. hmmm I was told to put in 35psi at the front and 38psi at the rear by Martin Addy, the service manager at Lexus Leicester.
  5. For a grand more I would go with the one with lower mileage. I bought one in aleutian grey but do like them in silver. Plus swirls and scratches that cars pick up over time show up less in lighter colors so I think the silver one will age better.
  6. I've had an 08 plate since July and yes the torque steer is a known common thing. Mainly due to most of the torque going to the front wheels. I have also noticed a very very slight pulling to the left. Only really noticed on motorways. I was going to ask the dealership to have a look at it on the next service but after your posts its seems to be a common issue.
  7. I can't remember the exact instructions I followed but I found them on this forum. I had to try them two or three times before it worked. I remember timing being very important. You had to ensure that the gear lever etc is in the right position and the lock button is pressed within 5 seconds of turning the ignition key.
  8. 08 rx400h here and instructions work just fine. Got it linked to speed and gear position.
  9. The SAT NAV system may need to be recalibrated. The manual should tell you how to do this. If you can't find it let me know and I can look it up and post on here.
  10. Theres no bolts to undo on the RX. just a slide switch which lets you take the black plastic fascia off. Once this is off you will see the slot drive. Press the eject button and the DVD pops out. I think the Key has to be in the ACC position for it to work though. hope this helps. the manual tells you how to do it too.
  11. Just a quick update The steering noise was diagnosed as a worn suspension top mount and sorted out swiftly by the dealer, along with the door check strap which fixed the door noise. Top marks for Lexus Leicester. They gave me an 11 plate IS200d as a loan car for a couple of days while they got the parts in, and although it feels very light on its feet, it was nice to get back in the RX!
  12. Yep. Thankfully it is the full Lexus warranty. I may well extend it next year if this carries on. I still have two years left on the hybrid power train warranty. Just a little disappointed as from everything I heard the rx should be one of the more reliable cars in its class. And I would have expected the Lexus approved checks before sale to have picked up suspension wear like this. The dealer is being very prompt and helpful so let's hope this is just a little hiccup.
  13. Hi guys. I would love to hear your opinions on my recent purchase. I picked up an 08 plate RX400h last Saturday. Although I'm loving the space, pace and refinement I have got some issues. 1. The drivers door check strap makes a loud(ish) CLACK-CLACK sound on opening closing. 2. On the first day the passenger side Windows would not open or close using the drivers door switch. Although this seems to have sorted itself out. 3. Four days after I getting it the steering started making horrible creaking noises on turning. The noise comes from the front passenger side. I took it back to the dealer and they have diagnosed a worn passenger side top suspension mount and are sorting it out. I am concerned that the door noise and suspension problem points to the car having lived a hard life in its 3 years and 45k miles. Luckily its an approved car with a years warranty but these problems are worrying. What are your thoughts?
