  1. Tried that but it did not work, although the IPOD is working fine via the wire but I dont like clutter. Just one issue if I want any volume I have to turn the speakers right up. If I am listening to the radio then 20 on the volume is quite loud. If I want that volume from the IPOD then I have to turn the volume to twice that. Is there something I am doing wrong? With regards to the iPdod volume, I would always turn the iPod up to full, and use the car audio to control the volume. With regards to your CD burning issue described earlier, I've found with mine car audio, I can play burned CD's without any problem, off the top of my head I think they're .WAV files, it's the format that iTunes uses when creating audio discs. Hope this helps
  2. I know that this probably wouldn't make any difference, but have you tried a different transponder in the key case, it shouldn't make any difference, but it would eliminate an issue with the transponder itself. Also I'm not sure of the exact way these work, but would it be possible to put some sort of conductive material (e.g. a sliver of foil) in the key case, to effectively make the distance from the actual key to the transponder closer, if that makes sense? I'm keen to find the outcome, because I found these on Ebay the day before you posted this thread and I was very interested because I have a key that is held together with masking tape, and I miss the flip type key I used to have with my last car.
  3. Thanks Mr Brownie, I think I'll take your advice. As for the polar bear, if you tried to eat my liver I'd chuffing kill you too..! (actually I knew that, it's to do with a vitamin D overdose, as they have to store loads of it in their livers for the winter months, due to lack of sunlight). So there you go, not only have we learned about parking breaks and transmission breaks, we have also learnt an utterly useless fact about polar bears. Thanks to everyone.
  4. I think I might need to upgrade my insurance, I'm not sure I'm covered for that.
  5. I've just bought an RX300 SE-L (54 Plate). I've looked around this forum, and seen that a number of people have had problems with the parking break. When I was test driving one from a Lexus dealer, the salesman told me that he has had a number of RX's and always leaves them in 'park' on the gearbox and generally doesn't bother with the parking break. Is this true, is the gear box sufficient, or should you always use the parking break? I have never owned am automatic before, so I don't know how good they are for keeping cars in place. Ta
  6. I've just put a deposit down on a 54 please RX300 SE-L with 87k on the clock, from an independant dealer (i.e. Non Lexus). It seams sound to me (but I'm far from an expect), and the dealer is providing a 6 month warantee. I was planning on getting an RAC inspection, but having seen that 4x4 over 2.5l are £305 for a check, so I'm wondering whether or not I should bother shelling out that cash, or just take a risk. What do you guys think? Am I just being tight, and I shoudl fork out the cash for peace of mind?
