Getting towards the end of the jobs list on the car now ,replaced the plugs today (DENSO) and carried out an oil and filter change (Valvoline). Noticed the top breather pipe outer cover has been nibbled !…although not recently, ordered a new pipe from Amayama. Gave the sump pan a fresh coat of black gloss 👍🏻

I went to a car show last Saturday, had roof down with baseball cap on at the motorway speed limit without drama.

Time for a sombrero 😉

Water leak in the boot will keep you busy ! Start high and work down , so 3rd brake light on boot..remove and reseal . remove back lights and sealer around white push in clips . much bigger job, seal inner and out side of rubber trim that runs under the rear window, inc getting up under the seal in the boot .

Push the rubber grommet half out at he bottom nearest the wheel arch👍🏻 you’ll hear it start to drain 😎

Trays just take the drips off the boot if it’s opened wet, pipe is 10-12mm so not likely to block.

I can try look up the tyre ..so it's a Falken Azenis does it have some letters and numbers after the name ? FK or PT ? I’ve had 3 SC’s and never found the buffeting that bad…normally wear a cap to keep my hair in place 😉 These cars command the better prices with full or semi-full service history, if it’s been neglected it could have burnt oil carbon built up inside the engine…and its now difficult to check . Dip stick will tell if it been changed recently but not if it’s been done on a regular basis. If almost no history this must reflect in the buying price and budget for a full service plus water pump and timing belt . If you’re not happen then walk away ….new cars coming up for sale regular now the weather is getting better.

My observations with creaking brakes are , cold car on choke with higher Revs..the cold brakes are having to hold the car harder and this gives the creaking….it’s normal. if it’s any other noise get them looked at . CD player should not need the SHIP procedure doing every time you take a disc out, it should go back to working normally. Maybe look at an aftermarket head unit . Speakers….. have a play with the balance and fader see if the speakers improve. Next step is a pair of after market upgrade speakers. should be YouTube clips on how to strip off door cards 👍🏻

As you say not much wrong for 167k. The brakes making a noise, is this at low speed when the car is cold ? …and when you put the CD in SHIP mode does it then let you eject any discs left in the player ? Common for early cars to blow front speakers but not so much facelift cars, then again..167k that’s a lot of miles with the same speakers .
