me and a mechanic mate did mine on a ramp, didnt take too long, a couple hours, if your doing it on your back then it could be tricky but definatly possible!
quick run down: remove gear stick from inside the car, split the prop shaft and remove, remove clutch slave cylinder, undo all gear box bolts and remove (the gear box looks really heavy but its actually really light, lighter then the one on my old peugeot 106 gti!) only thing we needed to borrow was a really long socket extention, the access to the top gearbox bolts is very limited! there is a guide somewhere where the guy did it on his back!
